A Closer Look at Ferretti Yachts INFYNITO 80
"Meet your imagination" is the guiding philosophy behind the latest addition to Ferretti Yachts' INFYNITO range. The INFYNITO 80 sets sail into uncharted waters, poised to redefine the cruising experience with a commitment to versatility and visual harmony between its interiors and exteriors. This yacht stands out with its expansive covered outdoor spaces, providing more leisure area than the segment average.Making its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the INFYNITO 80 joins its predecessor, the INFYNITO 90. Both models exemplify Ferretti's dedication to sustainability, flexibility, and innovative design. Among its standout features is the award-winning All-Season Terrace, which promises to provide a unique environment for relaxation and entertainment. With a length of 23.70 meters and a beam of 6.32 meters, the INFYNITO 80 showcases a versatile layout, offering a choice between an open or semi-open sundeck while maximizing covered and protected outdoor areas.Developed through the collaboration of the Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, the yacht’s exterior design is the work of architect Filippo Salvetti, while the interiors were crafted by Ideaitalia. The model also incorporates F.S.E.A. (Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture) technology, which includes eco-friendly solutions such as a fast displacement hull designed for enhanced fuel efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Additionally, it emphasizes the use of sustainable materials, an integrated energy storage system for solar power, enabling a "hotel mode" experience for up to eight hours at anchor. The main deck of the INFYNITO 80 embodies versatility and fluidity, highlighted by its spacious stern beach area, featuring an 18-square-meter layout with sea-view seating. Access to water activities is made easy with a linear lift for the tender. The cockpit boasts generous proportions and is furnished with chic, freestanding units, leading into a light-filled main lounge (26m2) available in two layout options. The dining area can accommodate six adults around a Cattelan Italia table, or an optional country kitchen design that complements a bar setup.Notably, the All-Season Terrace extends from the bow section, providing an intimate outdoor space that includes a standard dining area or an optional cocktail bar, seamlessly linking to the galley. The upper deck offers two configurations—fully open or semi-enclosed—providing a climate-controlled environment if desired. This space accommodates an outdoor dining area for eight and integrates two wet bars with multifunctional capabilities. The lower deck accommodates four double cabins (master, VIP, and two twins), each featuring en-suite bathrooms, ensuring luxurious living for up to eight guests. The master cabin highlights elegant material choices, while flexible sleeping arrangements are available in the guest cabins. The INFYNITO 80 is powered by either two 1200 HP or 1400 HP MAN engines, capable of achieving top speeds of 20 and 22 knots respectively while maintaining fuel efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The yacht can achieve an impressive range of up to 1,000 nautical miles at cruising speed, promoting eco-conscious sailing. With its innovative F.S.E.A. technology, including solar energy storage capabilities, the INFYNITO 80 delivers an outstanding 83% reduction in fuel consumption, translating into significantly lower CO2 emissions. The Ferretti Group, led by Chief Executive Officer Alberto Galassi, is now one of the world’s leaders in the construction and sale of luxury yachts and pleasure vessels, with a unique portfolio of brands: Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, Mochi Craft, CRN, Custom Line and Wally.Credit: Ferretti Group
Hygge: Vripack's 41m Scandi Seadream
Vripack has always been celebrated for its expertise in smart and innovative yacht design. Their latest creation, the 41-meter superyacht Hygge, exemplifies this dedication to intelligent craftsmanship. While its size may seem conventional for a superyacht of this category, the layout and ambiance of Hygge offer a unique and inviting experience tailored to meet the diverse needs of its owners. It is designed to enhance accommodation, foster social interactions, and celebrate quality moments among family members across generations — all while expertly maximizing space and functionality.Constructed by MCP Yachts in Brazil, the same shipyard responsible for the award-nominated Vripack-designed 37.46m Queen Tati, Hygge sets itself apart as a custom-built explorer yacht with distinctive features. Due to certain restrictions in the shipyard’s facilities that limit length, Vripack chose to prioritize volume and functionality. The results speak for themselves: Hygge boasts an impressive volume of 380 gross tons (GT), setting a record for the largest full-aluminum motor yacht produced in South America to date. The yacht’s interior design, expertly crafted by Leonardo Rotsen, provides sumptuous accommodation for up to ten guests, distributed across an exceptional seven guest cabins. Among these is a luxurious owner’s suite located on the upper deck, complete with dual bathrooms and a private terrace, offering stunning views and a sanctuary for relaxation. To further enhance the experience, the yacht also includes quarters for ten crew members, made possible through Vripack's insightful arrangement of spaces. By relocating the galley and laundry area to a dedicated section on the lower deck, additional room was freed up on the main deck for four guest cabins, along with two additional cabins situated on the lower deck’s starboard side.Bart Bouwhuis, co-creative director at Vripack, explains the clever layout: “We divided the lower deck into two distinct areas. Each section features separate access and stairways, allowing for seamless service while ensuring that guests can enjoy their time together without interruptions. This thoughtful design grants the main deck entirely to guest use.”Another striking element of the design is the split-level wheelhouse atop the yacht, which provides the captain with unobstructed panoramic views. Positioned just behind the wheelhouse is a hot tub surrounded by stylish sunpads, creating a communal retreat for relaxation and socialization among guests. The lower deck features a well-equipped beach club, complete with a spa, gym, sauna, and a spacious swim platform, adding to the array of leisure options onboard. Dining arrangements cater to varying preferences, with formal meals in the sky lounge and al fresco dining available on the main deck. Additionally, private banquet seating situated in front of the master suite fosters a sense of togetherness.Designed for the owner’s chosen cruising grounds that span Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean, Hygge’s semi-displacement hull draws inspiration from the sleek lines of a naval frigate. This design facilitates impressive performance, achieving a top speed of 23 knots, with a comfortable cruising speed of 18 knots.Damien Chaves, director of engineering at MCP Yachts, highlights Hygge’s exceptional construction: “This full-aluminum hull not only ensures significant internal volume but also provides lightness and autonomy. Hygge is a 40-meter superyacht that offers the comfort of a much larger 50-meter vessel, while its shallow draft and lighter build enable dynamic exploration across diverse waters.”Delivered in July 2024, Hygge is a remarkable testament to Vripack’s commitment to sophisticated design, tailored functionality, and enhanced living experiences on the water. Vripack is a yacht-design studio with a portfolio that represents over 7400 designs, made strong through its extensive naval architecture and engineering experience. From the moment they opened their doors in 1961, Vripack studio’s approach to design has been governed by the playful interaction between form and function.Credits: Vripack
