German shipyard, Lurssen is currently working on no less than 5 megayachts over 100 meters in length according to several reports, the largest of which is set to become Project Redwood at 139 meters in length.




German shipyard, Abeking & Rasmussen is preparing to launch its newest flagship, the 98-meter Aviva for UK billionaire, Joe Lewis. Apart from becoming the largest yacht ever built by Abeking & Rasmussen, Aviva also becomes the largest yacht ever designed by the British design studio, Reymond Langton. Lewis, whose net worth is estimated at $5,3 billion by Forbes, is also the current owner of the 68-meter Aviva, delivered by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007. The new 98-meter is to become the UK billionaire's 4th Aviva.




Turkey-based shipyard, Turquoise Yachts (ex. Proteksan Turquoise), has announced the sale of the 77-meter project NB63 currently under construction at their facility to a European owner. The yacht is due to be launched in spring 2018. Penned by H2 Yacht Design based on the platform of the 72-meter Vicky, the NB63 features a 5-metre spa pool on its sun deck, a large beach club with side platforms and a helipad on its bow. Capable of accommodating 18 guests or staff across 9 suites, the NB63 also features a 100sqm owner's suite on the upper deck complete with an additional cabin for children or staff.




The 140m Ocean Victory has been recently spotted cruising Phi Phi islands, Koh Rok and Phuket in Thailand. Delivered by Fincantieri in 2014, the superyacht is designed by Espen Oeino with interior spaces created by the late Alberto Pinto together with Sessa Romboli. Owned by billionaire steel magnate Viktor Rashnikov, one of the oligarchs shaping the yachting industry nowadays, Ocean Victory accommodates up to 36 guests. As with many other yachts of this size, she is packed with alluring features such as 6 pools spread out over her 7 decks, an internal floodable dock to house her 14m tender, two helipads and a vast spa area. 




Sanlorenzo has recently shared the photo of its first 52Steel superyacht emerging from the build shed in Italy. Named Seven Sins, the yacht will be launched in 14 days and will be the first vessel to make a splash at the Italian shipyard's new facility in La Spezia. Sanlorenzo's engineering team is responsible for the naval architecture, whilst Officina Italiana Design styled the yacht’s exterior.




Oceanco's highly confidential 88.5m superyacht, Y715, has been lowered into the water in Keppel Veroime 2 months ago. Dutch Yachting has recently shared the photos of the superyacht undergoing her first sea trials. Launched at the end of October, she has a beam of 14.5m and a draft of 3.95m. Exterior styling and interior design are by Sam Sorgiovanni Designs. The yacht presents a modern sporty look with a dark blue hull which is generously offset with a contrasting white superstructure.  With no sharp edges, she has a very organic form with large elliptical-shaped hull windows that complement Y715’s curvilinear profile. 81 metre Feadship Air has emerged from Monaco Marine La Ciotat with a new paint job. Just eight weeks after the superyacht refit yard was assigned the task of repainting the vessel's hull, Air hit the water showing off her soft, non-reflective, black matte coat. Air was hauled out of the water on 3rd October. To prepare for the arrival of the superyacht, Monaco Marine had set up a made-to-measure transformation cocoon. The 1,000 square metre surface was completed by a team of 25 painters from subcontractor Rolling Stock. 




CRN, the Italian brand, part of the Ferretti Group, specializing in the construction of fully-custom steel and light aluminium alloy pleasure vessels between 40 and 100 meters in length, recently performed a major procedure - the relocation of the new 79-meter megayacht, bound to become the second largest yacht ever built by the yard. The yacht, weighing more than 1,000 tons, was skillfully moved 800 meters over a span of two hours from one hangar into another. The relocation showed the impressive volumes of this new megayacht - hull number 135 - designed by CRN’s Technical Department in cooperation with Studio Zuccon International Project, who designed its exteriors, and with Studio Laura Sessa, who took care of interior design.

Amels 80 Hits the Water with Damen Yachting
Damen Yachting has successfully launched the first Amels 80. The vessel is the latest addition to the Amels Limited Editions range.The 80-meter superyacht boasts a gross tonnage of 2,175 GT and features a hybrid propulsion system for reduced emissions and improved cruising efficiency. The vessel can accommodate 14 guests across 7 luxurious suites, supported by a crew of 21. Notable features include a foredeck helipad, a 200-square-meter Sun Deck, a private Owner’s Deck, a 6.5-meter swimming pool, and a Beach Club with spa facilities.The exterior design is the work of renowned superyacht designer Espen Oino, while the interior was created by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design in their first collaboration with Amels. Paul Costerus, Designer Interior at Sinot, commented: “The Amels 80 marks the first collaboration between Sinot and Amels. A project which provided us with the opportunity to develop something truly unique. You will feel at home from the moment you step on board.”The build of the first Amels 80 was managed by Burgess on behalf of the Owner following the yacht’s sale in 2022. GS Blue Introduced by Grand Soleil
Grand Soleil Yachts has introduced its first weekender model, the Grand Soleil Blue, marking a significant departure from its traditional performance and long-cruise yachts. The 32ft 9in (9.99m) vessel is designed for day sailing and weekend getaways, featuring a sustainable build and electric propulsion options.The yacht is the smallest in the Grand Soleil range and sets new standards for recyclability. According to Gigi Servidati, Cantiere del Pardo Chairman, “The GS Blue represents the beginning of a new concept within the Grand Soleil range: a line that is agile, sustainable, fun, highly liveable, and designed for more immediate and flexible use.”The vessel’s design emphasizes performance and comfort, developed by naval architect Matteo Polli and Nauta Design for exterior, interior design, and layout. Polli noted, “The striking hull shape is designed to provide stability when the boat heels, to maximize power upwind. And in light winds, or when running, the narrow waterline beam delivers lower drag and therefore higher speeds.”Sustainability is a core feature of the GS Blue. The yacht utilizes Arkema’s Elium resin in its composite lay-up, allowing for recovery and reuse at the end of its life. The PET core material in the hull’s sandwich construction is derived from post-consumer waste, and the design allows for easy disassembly of components.The yacht offers fully electric propulsion as an option, featuring a 6kW pod drive from ePropulsion powered by a 190Ah lithium battery. This setup provides a range of up to 30 nautical miles at 5 knots, with the option to double that range by adding a second battery pack. The electric system enables silent maneuvering and a top speed of 6.5 knots.Performance-wise, the GS Blue boasts a 2.2m bulb keel (with a 1.8m shallow draft option) and a generous sailplan. It can achieve upwind speeds of 6-8 knots and downwind speeds of 10-12 knots. The design prioritizes easy shorthanded or solo sailing, featuring push-button electric Harken winches.Inside, the yacht offers modern Italian-style amenities including a heads compartment with freshwater shower, an efficient galley with hob, oven, and fridge, and berths for up to four, optimized for two. Southampton International Boat Show Announces 2025 Revamp
The 56th Southampton International Boat Show will introduce several new features when it returns to Mayflower Park from September 19-28, 2025. Organizers British Marine confirmed a redesigned layout with specialized zones including The Powerhub for powerboats and Angler's Alley for fishing enthusiasts.New additions include: the Boating Academy offering educational sessions, waterside Lounge for premium ticket holders, expanded marina area with grouped vessel displays, on the Water stage featuring high-speed demonstrations. Visitor experiences will include the Try A Boat program with FlexiSail and accessible powerboat rides through Wetwheels. The Shipyard festival area will host live music and family activities, with a headline act to be announced.Ticket prices currently start at £24.99 for adults, with free entry for two children per adult ticket. Piero Formenti Appointed as New President of Italian Marine Industry Association
The General Council of Confindustria Nautica has designated Piero Formenti, owner of Zar Formenti, as President of the Italian Marine Industry Association for the 2025-2029 term. The appointment will be formally ratified at the association's general meeting on May 16 during the SATEC Convention in Rapallo.Formenti becomes the first president representing the small boating sector in the association's history. The selection process saw 79.04% member participation with 94.64% approval votes.Piero FormentiSince founding Zar Formenti in 1979, specializing in inflatable boats, Formenti has served as association director since 2008 and vice president since 2019. He currently holds the position of vice-chair at European Boating Industry (EBI), having previously served two terms as president (2015-2019)."My experience provides a unified vision of the industry," Formenti stated.
