81 metre Feadship Air has emerged from Monaco Marine La Ciotat with a new paint job. Just eight weeks after the superyacht refit yard was assigned the task of repainting the vessel's hull, Air hit the water showing off her soft, non-reflective, black matte coat.

Air was hauled out of the water on 3rd October. To prepare for the arrival of the superyacht, Monaco Marine had set up a made-to-measure transformation cocoon. The 1,000 square metre surface was completed by a team of 25 painters from subcontractor Rolling Stock.

Cyprien Milhe, project manager at Monaco Marine, explains:
Black matt paint is a very delicate paint. It requires a careful preparation of the paint and coatings, as well as a continuous application to render the rare non-reflective and soft texture appearance. The previous paint must not interfere with the new paint coat

Air’s Captain Steve Warren comments:
Air is very unique. Its hull color defines this boat and we all held our breath during the repaint. We were stunned about the perfect finish
Air was built by Feadship in 2011. With a beam of 12m and a draft of 3.55m, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Performance wise she is powered by MTU 16V 4000 M60 engines of 2360hp each, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruise at 15 knots. The superyacht can accommodate 14 guests in 7 cabins with an exterior and interior design by De Voogt.
The superyacht departed the shipyard on December 9. She is ready for charter again.
