Feadship's 44m True North Listed for Sale
The 43.6-meter Feadship motor yacht True North is now on the market, with an asking price of USD9,995,000. Listed by Northrop and Johnson's yacht brokers Kevin Merrigan and Kristen Klein, the vessel was originally built in 1987 at the Van Lent shipyard and underwent an extensive refit in 2021. This refit, costing around USD4 million, included a full exterior repaint, modernization of the A/V setup, and upgrades to the air conditioning and navigation systems, among other improvements.True North, previously known as Fiffanella, has a history of global cruising and is known for her durability, with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Her shallow draft makes her particularly suitable for cruising in regions like The Bahamas.The yacht’s design emphasizes both comfort and functionality. Invictus Yacht Reveals New Flagship Model, the ST550
Invictus Yacht has revealed the first details of its latest flagship, the Invictus ST550. This 16.87-meter vessel, set to make its world debut next winter, represents a blend of traditional design elements and modern innovation. Designed by Christian Grande, the ST550 introduces a new approach to space distribution, with "S" standing for "Space" in its name.The ST550 retains Invictus Yacht's signature design features, such as the semi-reverse bow, while also drawing inspiration from classic shuttle boats. The yacht is designed to provide exceptional comfort for both medium and long cruises, with protective bulwarks ensuring safety on the foredeck.One of the standout features of the ST550 is its expansive living area in the bow, which sets a new standard for exterior layouts in this segment. Large, fully electric side windows and a glass door at the stern offer nearly uninterrupted views of the surrounding environment. The cockpit at the stern features a spacious living area that can be transformed into a sunbathing zone, enhanced by retractable bulwarks. Additionally, the yacht includes a large swim platform that can be submerged to facilitate tender launching.Below deck, the ST550 offers two cabins—Master and VIP—and two bathrooms. The middle of the yacht features a large living area, which can be customized to include a third cabin or a galley at the owner's request.The Invictus ST550 is designed to accommodate up to two IPS950 engines, emphasizing both performance and efficiency. While the full-scale debut of the yacht is planned for next winter, a 1:15 scale model will be on display at the Genoa Boat Show from September 19-24, 2024. The event will also showcase other notable models from Invictus Yacht, including the TT420, TT460, and four GT models: GT280, GT320, GT320S, and GT370. Evo Yachts Unveils Evo R4+ at Cannes Yachting Festival
Evo Yachts has introduced its latest model, the Evo R4+, at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024. The new 13-meter yacht is an evolution of the Evo R+, featuring an enclosed deck design and two new key features: an aluminum hard top and a custom multifunctional stern platform. These enhancements emphasize the yacht's focus on transformability, allowing for versatile use across different conditions and needs.The Evo R4+ was developed by Evo Yachts, owned by the Mercuri brothers, in collaboration with designer and naval engineer Valerio Rivellini. The yacht is designed to combine the open-air experience of a walkaround with the comfort of a cabin cruiser. Key innovations include a partially removable aluminum hard top and an extended aft deck with a multifunctional platform, which adds an additional meter to the yacht's length. The design also includes "XTension" bulwarks, a signature feature of the brand, enhancing the usability of the beach area.Powered by two 535 HP Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines, the Evo R4+ is capable of reaching a top speed of 34 knots and has a range of approximately 300 nautical miles. The interior spaces are designed with a focus on transformability, offering both spaciousness and comfort.In addition to the Evo R4+, Evo Yachts is also showcasing the second unit of the Evo R+, an 18-meter yacht designed for extended stays onboard. This model features a minimalistic, sporty design with an enclosed main deck, high-ceilinged interiors, and advanced propulsion via a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines, which can achieve a top speed of around 33 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots.The Evo Yachts shipyard is based near Naples. She was born in 2014 from a fortunate encounter between Blu Emme Yachts and the Neapolitan yacht designer Valerio Rivellini. The heart and entrepreneurship that kick-started EVO originated from Blu Emme Yachts, a luxury yachts refitting company. New Appointment: André Mahr as Ocean Independence New Chief Operating Officer
Ocean Independence, the brokerage houses headquartered in Küsnacht, Switzerland, is strengthening its management team by adding the role of Chief Operating Officer. André Mahr is moving from A-ROSA Cruises to Ocean Independence for this position. At the same time Ocean Independences announces that the new title of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) has been awarded to Toby Maclaurin, who has been with the company for 16 years, formerly as Sales & Charter Director across all 15 Ocean Independence offices.André MahrAndré Mahr is a German national who has been living and working in Switzerland since 2019. Starting out as a naval and commercial seaman after attending University of Applied Sciences in Wismar/Germany, André rose to the rank of Captain before coming ashore, soon taking leading roles in safety, operational and managerial departments - and then having senior development and executive positions - with AIDA Cruises, Costa Crociere and its parent company Carnival Corporation. Before André relocated to Switzerland, he was tasked by Carnival with establishing the operational management for the fleet in Shanghai. In Switzerland André was instrumental in setting up the operational fleet of A-ROSA. André Mahr will ensure operational excellence throughout the company. IT, banking and a solid support structure as well as an expanded QMS will play an important part, and at the same time the COO will guide and assist Administration and Support Team Members in ensuring that all Sales & Charter Consultants and Yacht Managers have an efficient, robust infrastructure and the best possible tools available with which to perform their tasks, thus enabling them to even better service existing clients and to attract new business. In this new role for Ocean Independence, André will be working collaboratively with the CEO, the CCO, other C-level members when applicable and with all Group Directors, Department Heads and the whole team.
