About Sunseeker

Sunseeker
Poole, Dorset, UK
One of the UK's largest yacht manufacturers, Sunseeker has its main headquarters in Poole, Dorset, England and has been making motor yachts since 1969. In 2006, co-founder, Robert Braithwaite led a £44m management buyout of the company backed by the Bank of Scotland. In 2008, the Sunday Times named Sunseeker as one of the 100 most profitable, non-listed companies in the UK.

Having gone through tough financial times in 2009, Sunseeker restructured its debt and was taken over by FL Partners, an Irish private equity company. Sunseeker was then sold in 2013 to the Wanda Group for near 300 million pounds according to the Financial Times.

Largest commercial real estate operator in China and world's largest cinema chain operator, Wanda Group was founded in 1988 by Wang Jianlin. The company has today 634 billion yuans in assets and manages over 26 million square meters of hotel property.

Vertigo spotted in Gibraltar
Recently delivered superyacht Vertigo has been spotted in Gibraltar yesterday. Two weeks ago we have also seen her arriving to Amsterdam for the final sea trials and fitting out, after which Feadship 96.6m yacht left Holland en route to Gibraltar. In December 2016, the official pictures from the yacht undergoing her sea trials on the North Sea were released. Last year Vertigo has also been spotted in Lelystad, the Netherlands on her way to Amsterdam and the sea.Vertigo saw the light of day on Wednesday 23 November, which is when this 96.55-metre superyacht left the construction hall at the Dutch yard in Makkum. She measures 96.55m/ 316.8ft and has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Redman Whiteley Dixon was responsible for the exterior design, Chahan Interior for the interior and De Voogt Naval Architects for the naval architecture. With a gross tonnage of 2,999GT, Vertigo was built to Lloyds +100A1 class and will fly the Cayman Islands flag. Powered by twin MTU engines of 3,004hp each, Vertigo will be able to reach a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruise for 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.Vertigo accommodates 18 guests in 7 double cabins and 2 twins, as well as a crew of 34. The owner's cabin is located on its own private deck with floor to ceiling windows throughout. Amenities include a spa pool aft of Vertigo's main deck, an extensive beach club with a bar located under the pool, a private cinema and a spa.Vertigo will further have two 10-meter custom Feadship tenders. You can take a closer look at the third largest Feadship superyacht here and find the first official images here.Photos by @superyachts_gibraltar
Carbon fiber Azimut S7 introduced
Azimut Yachts has presented its new carbon fiber motor yacht Azimut S7. Measuring 21m, she is offered in Coupé and Sportfly versions featuring a propulsion system with three Volvo IPS units. The Azimut S7 will make its official debut at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival. The use of carbon fiber in the superstructure and the pivoting platform has made it possible to increase the volume of the boat without affecting its overall weight, optimizing performance. And the triple IPS technology also provides an additional benefit in the form of even more below deck space. The result is a below deck area that is 13 meters in length, plus a garage with space for both a 3.25 meter tender and a jet ski. This solution leaves the stern clear when the garage is closed, while the pivoting platform creates a terrace on the sea.The exteriors are designed by Stefano Righini, whilst the interiors are the work of Francesco Guida. The heart of the S7 is a 19 m2 owner’s suite, which is organized in four different areas, each with its own function and separated by partitions, mirrors and translucent materials. Also below deck are three more cabins, all with extremely generous proportions. The galley has been moved to the main deck, in the bow, to ensure ease of use without penalizing the big living area. There are two lounging areas, an interior one served by two coffee tables that can be transformed into a big table seating eight and a stand for a 55-inch TV, and a large exterior cabinet with bar counter. The interior styling also stands out from the crowd, combining elegance with a masculine personality. There are two versions, the first warmer and the second more high-tech. This latter style was chosen for the first unit, which features a series of variations on grey and uses materials like glossy black flamed oak and tay wood. The S7 is fitted with three Volvo IPS 1,050 propulsion units, each equipped with an 800 hp engine, that drive the yacht to a maximum speed of more than 35 knots when fully fitted out. On a technical level, the ACS (Advanced Cruising Solutions) program introduces a series of solutions to deliver the best product experience: active trim control to automatically adjust the yacht’s longitudinal trim, the driving joystick, the integrated onboard control and monitoring system, and the auto balance system that transfers fuel from tank to tank to adjust transverse trim in changing load conditions. The Azimut S7 is designed and built to the highest standards applied in the sector and has been issued with the shipyard’s HTS High Technical Standard declaration. The yacht is also eligible for CE A and NMMA certification for boats under 24 meters.Azimut Yachts division, which specializes in yachts in the 12 to 35-meter range and generates about 50% of the Azimut Benetti Group’s total turnover, grew twice as fast as the market average in the four months from September to December 2016.
