1. The owners of 62m Rossinavi superyacht Vector revealed
In June Italian shipyard Rossinavi announced the construction of 62m superyacht Vector, known as project FR031. The name of the owner was not revealed at that time, however we did know that the client was a US citizen. Now the Miami Herald has reported the owners to be J.R. and Loren Ridinger, Miami Beach internet marketers. The society couple and founders of Market America said that the superyacht is their biggest purchase on water yet.

Icon Yachts together with Bristow Holmes brokerage firm unveiled 46m The Gotham Project. Built by the Dutch shipyard and designed in partnership with ER Yacht Design, she promises to be one of the most iconic yachts of the future. Ivan Erdevicki styled the yacht's interior, whilst Icon Yachts and Van Oossanen were responsible for the naval architecture. The Gotham Project is able to accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins, as well as a crew of 10.
At the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Oceanco revealed its latest design, the 102m Project Spectrum. Aptly named, Spectrum was conceived by Nauta Design and the Dutch shipyard to encompass a broad range of possibilities, both in terms of her propulsion system and living spaces. She maintains a sleek, streamlined profile, which allows lower resistance through the water.
Fincantieri has teamed up with one of the world's most esteemed yacht designers Horacio Bozzo to create the 120-metre megayacht concept Private Bay. Exterior relaxation spaces are plentiful, with two large Jacuzzi’s, one on the foredeck and one on the sun deck, both surrounded with large sunpads and relaxation areas. Back aft, the open beach club concept is a unique feature that includes a 160m2 lounge area with side openable windows, alfresco cinema, and a huge sea level pool with bar. There are also submergible stairs, a platform for gentle access to the ocean, and a generous swim-platform for easy boarding of water toys.
Oceanco's highly confidential 88.5m superyacht, Y715, has been recently lowered into the water in Keppel Veroime. Launched at the end of October, she has a beam of 14.5m and a draft of 3.95m. Exterior styling and interior design are by Sam Sorgiovanni Designs. She presents a modern sporty look with a dark blue hull which is generously offset with a contrasting white superstructure. With no sharp edges, she has a very organic form with large elliptical-shaped hull windows that complement Y715’s curvilinear profile. Further details remain confidential at this time.
To anyone familiar with the yachting industry, the notion of a golden, 30-meter yacht valued at $4.8 billion will sound absurd. This has however not always been the case with mainstream media who have sometimes been fooled by ridiculous press releases.
Norway-based Ulstein Verft has signed a contract on building a yacht for a private owner, one of the world’s biggest ship owners. This will be the first vessel for Ulstein within this segment. The marine platform and hull line design is developed by Ulstein Design & Solutions. Exterior design and general arrangement plan will be supplied by the renowned yacht designer Espen Øino.
During the FLIBS 2016 Italian shipyard Mondomarine unveiled the M42 Atlas project designed by Gregory Marshall and developed in collaboration with Northrop & Johnson. M42 Atlas is designed to sleep 12 guests in five staterooms, including an on-deck master cabin with options for his-and-hers bathrooms or a larger dressing area. Two of the lower-aft cabins can be combined to create one large VIP suite. All cabins are en-suite and benefit from oversized windows and portholes, filling all cabins with natural light. M42 Atlas is listed for sale for €24,500,000.
Italian shipyard Cantieri di Pisa has announced the sale of Kitalpha 22 more than a month ago. Now we've been informed that the first unit is currently under construction.
Kitalpha 22 is able to sleep up to 8 guests in an owner's full-beam suite and three cabins, each hosting private bathrooms. There is also a room at the bow for two crew members. Her alluring amenities include an amazing beach club, a gym/spa area. The stern cockpit on the main deck hosts a tender.

Benetti is reporting on its success: the Yachtmaster, an event organised by Benetti for captains, crews and all yacht industry professionals involved in the life cycle of a superyacht, now in its 21st year, was held on February 18 and 19 in a phygital edition: more than 250 people connected to a specially created virtual platform in collaboration with Live Forum, to follow the online meetings, seminars and workshops. The new interactive format was a huge success and the Virtual Trade Show allowed Yachtmaster partner companies to showcase their products and communicate in real time with guests. The participants were able to set appointments with managers of different companies after the end of the Yachtmaster and before February 23.It kicked off with a welcome speech by Azimut|Benetti Group vice president Giovanna Vitelli, who emphasised the importance in the yacht world of an event like the Yachtmaster, which opens up a communication channel between yacht industry professionals and the shipyard. Onda Tenders has shared new images of the Onda 321L limo tender of superyacht O'Pari. Onda’s 9.75m 321L limousine tender offers protected seating for up to ten passengers alongside such options as retractable skylights extending the full length of a cabin, high-tech audiovisual systems, refrigerators and espresso machines, and front or rear navigation consoles for guest privacy in the cabin. One of its latest 321L limousine tenders achieved a top speed of 42 knots during its sea trials, thanks to its innovative double-step, deep-V hull and lightweight, yet powerful propulsion system. Horizon shipyard has informed us about the third sale of the successful brand-new tri-deck FD92. FD Series were designed by Cor D. Rover and are characterized by a spacious interior and expansive windows to the High-Performance Piercing Bow and hull design. The latest FD92 features a five-stateroom layout with an on-deck master, crew quarters and a beach club. Outfitted in satin walnut with high-gloss wenge and oak accents, the main deck is laid out in the traditional configuration, with the main salon aft and formal dining and galley amidships. The master stateroom encompasses the yacht’s 23’ 3” beam and features a his-and-hers en suite. The television is fitted within a stylish full-height leather wall panel and a leather love seat to port invites relaxation while enjoying the views afforded by the large stateroom windows. Throughout the main and upper decks, electric window treatments provide shade and privacy when desired.The lower deck foyer is equipped with a mini bar to service the three queen and convertible twin staterooms. The televisions have all been fitted within full-height leather wall panels. The beach club offers a bar with two fixed stools and a large convertible sofa/daybed.On the upper deck, the enclosed skylounge houses the helm station, lounge seating with an organic shaped coffee table, and a dayhead. The US Austin Parker Yachts has announced the sale of the first hull in its 27m Ibiza 85 series.The Ibiza 85 represents the shipyard’s flagship with its 27 (89’) meters in length.Sporting features encompassing class, distinctive style, innovative solutions with design and technological proposals were made in close partnership with the Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design. Austin Parker Yachts mentioned that all these features make Ibiza 85 ‘the ideal boat for more mature owners’. The cockpit is equipped with a sundeck, and, under it, there is a hangar housing the tender and other accessories, as well as a dining area with a central table and ten seats.Under a streamlined hardtop there are sofas and furniture equipped to serve the dining area and refrigerators and freezers.A 7m beam, combined with the 27m L.O.A. of the boat, allows five independent cabins, each equipped with a bathroom and shower, a large kitchen and accommodation for three crew members.Ibiza 85 can reach a top speed of 45 knots, and her cruising speed varies between 38 and 40 knots. The first unit is scheduled to launch in June 2022.Austin Parker offers a range of vessels with more contemporary architectural solutions, with slanting sterns, low over the water, that give an even sleeker profile to the familiar Austin Parker hull with its high, solid bows. A modern, individual look was made under the direction of Italian firm Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design. The range comprises three walk-around models, Ibiza 38′, Ibiza 44′ and Ibiza 52′; two motor yacht models Mahòn 46′ and Mahòn 52′; and the larger flying bridge line and two Palma 62′ and Palma 66′models.
