Camper and Nicholsons Announces Sale of 43m Only Eighty
Camper & Nicholsons, a leading name in luxury yacht brokerage, announced the successful sale of the 43-meter motor yacht Only Eighty built by CRN in Ancona and designed by Zuccon International.Launched in 2013, Only Eighty is the eighth hull of the highly acclaimed series, boasting a remarkable blend of interior volume and versatile exterior spaces spread across three decks. Represented by Fernando Nicholson and Rodrigo Nicholson, Camper & Nicholsons facilitated the sale of this vessel, further solidifying its reputation as a premier brokerage firm.The yacht features an array of amenities, including a sundeck with a hottub, an al fresco dining area, a sizable swim platform at the stern, a fully-equipped gym, and even an elevator for convenient access between decks. With accommodation for up to 14 guests, Only Eighty offers a luxurious retreat at sea, featuring a full-beam master stateroom on the main deck with a private balcony, along with four guest suites on the lower deck, two of which boast additional Pullman berths. Additionally, the yacht provides separate accommodation for a crew of nine, making it an ideal choice for chartering ventures.Only Eighty's interior design exudes modern elegance, with mahogany detailing and a nod to Italian style. Winston Churchill's former Yacht Amazone Set for Restoration
After languishing as a houseboat in France for the past two decades, the illustrious 38.9-meter yacht Amazone is poised to undergo a significant restoration at Pendennis Shipyard. Arriving from Le Havre to Falmouth and then being transported to Pendennis Shipyard on the morning of February 14th, the restoration marks a pivotal moment in the history of this storied vessel.Originally constructed by British yard Thornycroft in 1936, Amazone holds a distinguished place in maritime history. As the property of the British government, she frequently served the needs of Winston Churchill, the First Lord of the Admiralty at the time. Notably, she played a role in Dunkirk's Operation Dynamo, a pivotal event during World War II.This ambitious restoration project is a collaboration between Nicholas Edmiston, William Collier of G.L. Watson & Co., and Sevenstar Yacht Transport. Mike Herrebrugh of Sevenstar Yacht Transport emphasized the extensive and intricate arrangements involved in towing Amazone from France to the shipyard, underscoring the importance of preserving this historic gem.William Collier praised the partnership with Sevenstar Yacht Transport, highlighting their dedication and support throughout the restoration process. This marks the third successful project between the two entities in the past year, underscoring their commitment to historical preservation in the maritime industry.Despite her age, Amazone still boasts impressive features, including the capability to host up to 60 guests for parties and receptions. With accommodation for 12 guests and eight crew, she offers a luxurious experience with a spacious 40-square-meter saloon equipped with a bar, dining room, and conference room. Additionally, her top deck features a large Jacuzzi for guests to enjoy.Powered by twin 700hp Cummins diesel engines, Amazone boasts a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots, making her a formidable vessel even by today's standards.The restoration of Amazone represents a significant effort to preserve maritime heritage and ensure that future generations can appreciate the splendor of this iconic yacht. Pendennis Shipyard is one of the world's leading custom superyacht builders and refit shipyards and has become one of Cornwall's most important employers with over 430 highly skilled tradespeople based at the 14-acre prime waterfront location in Falmouth, UK. In the latter part of 2018 Pendennis secured a majority share hold in Vilanova Grand Marina, a 48 berth facility with adjacent land available for further development. Burke emphasizes that the 435 GTO eliminates the need for compromises often associated with boat design, offering both speed and accommodation without sacrificing one for the other.Visitors to the Miami International Boat Show are invited to experience the debut of the Galeon 435 GTO firsthand by stepping aboard at Galeon Yachts' booth. The show, spanning across Miami and Miami Beach until February 18, features over 1,000 boats ranging from kayaks to superyachts, with over 1,000 exhibitors expected to attract up to 100,000 visitors throughout the week.The Galeon 435 GTO, boasting two staterooms, showcases a versatile and entertainment-friendly layout. One standout feature is the private open bow, providing an inviting space for socializing and relaxation. Additionally, the 435 GTO offers full opening and closing capability, featuring a sunroof, full-length hull windows, and a sliding aft door. Italian Marine Industry Takes Spotlight at Miami International Boat Show
Italian marine industry companies are once again making their mark on the global yachting scene at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show.Organized by the Italian Marine Industry Association, Confindustria Nautica, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian delegation stands out among the exhibitors. According to Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association, the Miami Boat Show reaffirms the importance of the US market for Italian exports. Italy's dominance in yacht production, inflatable units, and boating equipment underscores its leading position in the global maritime industry.Moreover, the Miami event serves as a platform to announce the ICOMIA 2025 World Marinas Conference, scheduled to be held in Venice from October 15th to 17th, 2025. Roberto Perocchio, Councillor and President of the "Nautical Tourism, Marinas and Dedicated Services" segment of the Italian Marine Industry Association, expressed pride in Italy's selection as the host country for this prestigious conference. He emphasized the strategic significance of this decision in highlighting Italy's role in the international marine industry and showcasing the country's marina services and recreational boating industry on a global scale.Looking ahead, the Italian Marine Industry Association has a packed calendar of international promotional initiatives lined up for 2024.
