24m BC80 Unveiled by Bering Yachts
At this year's Cannes Yachting Festival, Turkish shipyard Bering Yachts proudly introduced its latest creation, the BC80, a 24-meter catamaran that stands out as the largest in its category. Joining its lineup alongside the 18.9-meter BC60 and the 21.3-meter BC70, the BC80 offers owners two distinct configurations to suit their preferences: a classic flybridge option and an eco-friendly solar-powered design. The flybridge version redefines traditional yachting experiences, showcasing an expansive 82-square-meter flybridge complemented by a remarkable solar panel array that spans 1,000 square feet. This innovative setup can generate over 20 kW of energy on sunny days, enabling extended stays at anchor without reliance on generators. In contrast, the solar-powered variant is tailored for environmentally aware adventurers. It boasts an extensive solar panel system, a high-capacity lithium-ion battery bank, and a cutting-edge "kick-saving" mechanism that minimizes generator use, allowing for up to 24 hours of peaceful cruising without the noise of engines. With a generous 10.8-metre beam, the BC80 boasts an impressive interior space that provides guests with an ultimate three-deck experience. The main deck offers 2.4 meters of headroom, while the dedicated upper deck complements the flybridge option. Meanwhile, the lower deck provides a cozy retreat. Owners can choose accommodations ranging from four to six cabins, with the possibility of a luxurious master suite situated on the main deck. The standard configuration also features a forward-positioned galley on the main deck, while guest cabins are strategically located in the sponsons to enhance privacy and minimize noise disturbances.Equipped with twin Volvo Penta engines, the BC80 can achieve top speeds of 15 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 10 knots, ensuring both performance and comfort for its occupants.Bering Yachts designs and builds semi-custom, steel-hulled expedition yachts and luxury trawler yachts ranging in size from 20m to 45m.
