1. 150m yacht concept Shaddai
The 150m Shaddai comes from the mind of Gabriele Teruzzi, an Italian yacht designer who previously worked on the Oceano 42 Mangusta at AM Yacht Design. The owner's cabin is located at a height of 38m and comes complete with a large terrace and an infinity pool located on the edge of the top deck. According to Teruzzi, the concept takes its inspiration from modern architecture and skyscrapers.
UK-based designer Andy Waugh presented his latest superyacht concept Epiphany. Measuring 130m, the vessel features a unique silhouette and a bold exterior. The concept uses the minimum of styling lines and structures creating an elegant effect belying its practicality and large volumes of accommodation.
The Investment Corporation of Dubai, main investment arm of the Government of Dubai, has announced it will purchase Porto Montenegro Marina and Resort, located in the bay of Kotor from Montport Capital. A former historic naval base, the site has been transformed into a marina by Peter Munk, founder of Barrick Gold, together with pool of investors which included Lord Jacob Rothschild and LVMH founder, Bernard Arnault. Focused on the luxury yacht segment of the market, the site also includes a village and hotel.
Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has arrived in the French Riviera aboard his 126 metre yacht Octopus, which currently occupies 14th place in the list of the largest private boats in the world. The exterior was designed by Espen Oino Naval Architects and built by the German shipbuilders Lurssen, whilst Jonathan Quinn Barnett of Seattle was responsible for the interior. Megayacht's alluring features include two helicopters, a submarine, swimming pool, music studio and basketball court. She can accommodate up to 26 guests in 41 suites and a crew of 60.
Baglietto has launched the first 46 meter yacht part of its new FAST line. Christened M/Y Fast, the yacht was designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design in an effort to maintain the brand's tradition and to continue to move the company forward.
With construction started in December 2015, the 80m Eidsgaard-designed superyacht was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2014. Now the first three hull sections nearing completion. The BV80 luxury amenities include a glass encased atrium at her centre, a beach club with a bar and lounge area, fire pits, nightclub area, indoor garden, outdoor cinema and a sliding roof in the master cabin.
Delivered by Benetti last year, the 63m superyacht 11-11 has been spotted at OneOcean Port Vell in Barcelona. The vessel is able to accommodate 12 guests as well as a crew of 16. The main salon features custom-made U-shape sofa, 12-seater formal dining table and a grey colour palette, while the sky lounge on the upper deck offers a more informal lounge environment complete with bespoke cocktail bar and generous seating.
Recently delivered Feadship's vessel has been turning heads in London in early May. Styled by Eidsgaard Design, 66.25m Vanish is another superyacht which the Dutch yard has made in collaboration with the London-based studio following such projects as Tango and Halo. One of her highlights includes the large free-standing staircase that is flanked by a glass wall in the full-height atrium. Vanish also boasts two touch and go helipads and an outdoor cinema.
Cantiere delle Marche has launched the second hull in its Darwin Class 102 line. Named Babbo, the vessel measures 31.9m and will be officially presented at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival. The yacht, launched on schedule, was built for a South American client. Hydro Tec was responsible for the naval architecture and exterior design, whilst her interiors were made in collaboration between Simon Hamui and PFA Design.
