The future of the shipyard now looks very much encouraging despite it being in trouble during the financial crisis. In 2010, Gruppo Baglietto announced it was going into voluntary liquidation after closing 2008 with 25 million euros in losses and, in 2009, 73 million euros of negative equity according to Il Sole 24 Ore. In 2010 it was acquired by Effebi-Overmarine for 33 million euros.
Baglietto is now part of Gruppo Gavio, an Italian company whose core business lies in motorway concessions, managing a network of 1,400km of motorways. The group led by Benjamino Gavio acquired the shipyard in 2012 for a reported 18.5 million euros, a few months before after purchasing Cerri Cantieri Navali. Since then Gruppo Gavio has further consolidated its position in the yachting industry with the purchase of Bertram, a US-based yacht manufacturer.
