The Monaco Yacht Show remains to this day the main event in the superyacht industry despite rising competition from other venues. The majority of vessels that will be docked in Port Hercules during the event have now been announced. Here is the list of the largest superyachts created in order of descending length.
Combining the unique talents of Pieter Beeldsnijder with Dykstra Naval Architects, 90m yacht Athena is a classic schooner for modern times. She is one of the largest sailing yachts ever delivered, and exudes grace and majesty. This three mast schooner provides some 2,500 sqm of sail power and is complete with in mast furling for the topsails and in boom furling for the carbon fiber gaffs. Athena blends traditional yachting arts with modern yachting technology.
2. TV
With a length of 78.4 meters (257 ft), TV was built by Lurssen to an exterior design by Espen Oeino and an interior by Alberto Pinto. The yacht is capable of accommodating 18 guests in 10 cabins and carries a crew of 27. Amongst the yacht's key features are a large spa pool, a massage room and a master cabin with a panoramic view.
3. Coral Ocean
Previously named Coral Ocean, 72.54m Lurssen built superyacht represents one of the first projects of the late designer Jon Bannenberg. The vessel has been privately owned and regularly maintained by her original builders. In 1994 Coral Ocean was one of the first yachts to feature interior gym and spa.
4. Martha Ann
70.2m Martha Ann was built for Warren E Halle and is the latest of three yachts commissioned by the American entrepreneur from Lurssen. Refitted in 2014, the yacht is classified by Lloyds and MCA compliant. Her 6 cabin-layout can accommodate 12 guests in a full beam master cabin, a VIP on the upper deck and four double cabins on the lower deck. From a technical standpoint, Martha Ann is powered by twin Caterpillar engines of 2,010 hp each giving her a maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 13 knots. For maximum comfort, this yacht for sale is fitted with zero speed stabilizers.
Designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the 70m superyacht combines high speed with increased stability. Built for a repeat Heesen customer, she can reach a top speed in excess of 30 knots thanks to twin MTU 20V 4000 engines of 5760 hp each and a third additional booster jet. The superyacht features an exterior design by Espen Oeino and an interior by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. Galactica Super Nova can accommodate up to 12 guests over several appointed cabins, including four guest cabins on the lower deck, a VIP suite on the wheelhouse deck aft, and a large owner’s suite forward on the main deck.
6. Sybaris
Perini Navi Group launched the 70m sailing yacht Sybaris at their facility in La Spezia, Italy at the beginning of May. The naval architecture on this project was handled by Perini Navi's in-house team and French designer, Philippe Briand who had previously worked with the group on the 73m motor yacht Grace E. The yacht was built out of alloy complete with a keel of variable draught (4.5m to 11.74m) in order to allow access to shallow areas and achieve good sailing performance. Sybaris' sails stretch over a surface of 2,300 square meters and can be controlled solely through the use of consoles in the cockpit.
7. Suerte
Tankoa Yachts built 69.3m superyacht Suerte in 2015. She features interior design by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. Guests will be able to board the yacht either from the swimming platform, via the lateral tender garages, by the gangway or the hydraulic Royal ladder. When boarding from the platform, they will access the interior walking trough the beach club equipped with saloon, large TV screen, bar, shower, massage room, sauna and hammam, both with direct access to the sea, thanks to their fold out terraces. The motor yacht can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins.
8. Icon
Icon is a 67.5m motor yacht built by Icon Yachts in 2010. She is an elegant and sleek superyacht providing all that is required for a perfect cruising experience. A high volume vessel, she boasts a contemporary interior and state-of-the-art equipment ensuring that she is the ideal yacht on which to sit back and relax. Icon is powered by MTU engines of 2480 hp each giving her a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.
9. Okto
66m motor yacht Okto was built in 2014 by Isa. Previously named Granturiso, her interior is designed by Alberto Pinto and exterior styled by Andrea Vallicelli. As for the accommodation, 10 guests can be carried on board.
10. Vanish
66.25m Vanish built by Feadship represents another superyacht which the Dutch yard has made in collaboration with the London-based studio following such projects as Tango and Halo. One of her highlights includes the large free-standing staircase that is flanked by a glass wall in the full-height atrium. Vanish also boasts two touch and go helipads and an outdoor cinema. As for the performance, she can reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and cruise at 12 knots.
