Cantiere Delle Marche Launches RJ 130
Cantiere delle Marche announced that explorer RJ 130 has been successfully launched.The exterior and interior of RJ range were designed by Francesco Paszkowski and naval architecture by Hydro Tec. The 40m explorer can accommodate 12 guests and seven crew members.“The RJ range of yachts is definitely a game changer for CdM. With three sales and five interior designs commissioned to Francesco Paszkowski, cooperation with multi-award-winning designers has already proven to be the right choice!” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and sales & marketing director at CdM.RJ features twin heavy duty MTU 10V2000M72 engines delivering 900kW each at 2250rpm, allowing a top speed of 14.5 knots. At an economic speed of 9 knots, she will have a range of around 5500nm with about 10% fuel left upon arrival.RJ 130 was sold to a European owner. “It was a great pleasure to work with an owner who was keen to bring his experience to CdM,” says Vasco. “Choosing CdM, he offered a serious statement of trust in our yard’s reliability and construction quality. Feadship Yacht W Damaged in Fire
A fire broke out in Fort Lauderdale's Bahia Mar Marina after an 8.5m boat caught fire after refuelling, with the flames spreading over the superyacht W (ex Larisa), built by Feadship in 2013. The 57.6m yacht had gone through a major refit in the Feadship home base of the Netherlands and was delivered to her new owner July 2020. The W hull was damaged by the fire, but it was successfully extinguished by twenty Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue firefighters. No injuries were reported.Video: Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue
Keel Laying Ceremony for Baglietto’s 52m Hull Number 10238
The ceremony for the Baglietto’s Hull Number 10238 keel laying, the first of 52m of the new generation of TLine yachts signed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, took place just before the Christmas holidays.The 52m Hull No. 10238 is a yacht that draws inspiration from Baglietto’s tradition – preserving its most classical stylistic features – but reinterprets it in a modern, contemporary key. The stern has been completely restyled and is now open, with a beach club on three different levels. The large pool can be “hidden” by an original up/down moving flooring system. Inside, the salon’s floor-to-ceiling glazing ensures a constant contact with the sea even when living indoors. The sky lounge on the upper deck can be opened on three sides. A retractable ladder directly connects the sun deck and the upper deck at the bow, making the latter a natural extension of the former. The yacht will be equipped with a standard hybrid propulsion system that will allow one to choose a more efficient navigation mode, reducing both costs and environmental impact. When cruising in electrical diesel mode, the T52 will have a range of up to 7,600 nautical miles and will be able to remain at anchor for up to ten hours just using batteries. Spacious and Smart: Azimut 53
Azimut 53 will make its official debut early in 2021. This new yacht from Azimut will compete in the mid-range Flybridge market segment. The yacht’s flowing lines hide surprisingly spacious interiors, making it perfect for a family who wants to enjoy long cruises in absolute comfort.The exterior design, by Alberto Mancini, is characterised by a sophisticated aesthetic. The elegant interiors are designed in a contemporary style by the Azimut Style Office.The generously proportioned day area is laid out on almost the same level, with the galley near the entrance and the living area separated by a difference in height of just 25 cm. The surprising sense of airiness and freedom of movement that this creates is enhanced by side windows that run uninterrupted, with no uprights, from right beyond the entrance area to the windscreen. As a result, natural light and the view over the water are the undisputed protagonists of the yacht, adding to the pleasure of spending time on board.The storage spaces, the depth of the armchairs and sofas, and the galley appliances have all been studied down to the smallest detail to ensure functionality, comfort, convenience and durability.The master stateroom amidships offers a full-height space. There are a lot of storage spaces in the suite, including a walk-in wardrobe.The lobby has been carefully designed to create space for a washer-dryer machine plus storage space without reducing the surface area of the third twin-bed cabin, while the partially verticalized bow makes the VIP cabin particularly roomy, with much more storage space and distance between the bed and the bulkhead than the market average.The exterior area is very convenient, with a long and comfortable L-shaped sofa in the cockpit. The setting can also be fitted with a bar unit with ice maker and bottle chillers.The foredeck and flybridge sunpad cushions have a shape, thickness and size that are an anthem to laziness and very hard to resist. The naval architecture, developed by the Azimut-Benetti R&D team, combined with the choice of a propulsion system featuring two Volvo Penta IPS 950s, ensures not only more volume on board, but also comfort, efficiency and manoeuvrability. The two engines deliver a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots.Azimut Yachts is an Azimut Benetti Group brand. Ferretti Group Publishes Its Sustainability Report
Ferretti Group has released its first sustainability report on corporate operations. The document formally testifies to the Group’s introduction of a virtuous pathway to minimise the environmental impact of its production processes and yachts, promoting better and wider ranging corporate social-responsibility measures. A materiality analysis has identified the topics with the greatest impact on business activities and the indicators to evaluate them, grouping them in four areas that will be examined each year in ever greater detail and used to measure the environmental and social performance of Ferretti Group: – Innovation and luxury: yachts– Environmental impact of the production process– Value for the local area– Human capitalFor Ferretti Group, sustainability starts with the quality and excellence that characterise the yachts it builds. Which is why research and development focus on the use of high-performance, sustainable materials and reducing energy consumption. The wood used in interior design is sourced from certified forests managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. The use of carbon fibre significantly reduces hull weight, resulting in yachts that are more efficient and consume less fuel. The research into hybrid engines and new technologies that reduce hull weight, as well as into improving the efficiency of shipyard activities is an important part of Group activity. In this sense, the ISO 14001 certification of the environmental management systems in place at the La Spezia site is the starting point for integrated management of the environmental impact of all production processes, as is the IMO Tier III certification obtained by CRN, the first shipyard in Italy to achieve this milestone, for a 62m megayacht. Also worthy of mention is the installation of the Ancona trigeneration plant to produce clean electric power, heating and cooling.Fundamental aspects are in the social sphere and include the impact on the local area, the entire supply chain and the central importance of human capital. Over 85% of Ferretti Group’s supply chain, which employs a total of more than 2,500 workers, is based in Italy and over 75% of the total economic value generated is distributed in the country. This contributes to job creation and the growth of the ecosystem of small and medium enterprises, including craft businesses, with which the Group has for years had a history of virtuous collaboration. This collaboration allows Group suppliers to develop specific processes and know-how and operate on global markets, generating development and innovation.As a result of all the measures that have been introduced, including the complete sanitisation of the production process right through to delivery, Ferretti Group has obtained RINA Biosafety Trust Certification, the first voluntary certification to prevent and control COVID infections, protecting over 1,500 workers, as well as customers. Finally, the Group has taken out an insurance policy covering all employees and providing protection in the event they test positive for the virus. This policy, which has been renewed for 2021, will be completed by another initiative to distribute 1,500 pulse oximeters to employees. “If we want to continue to grow steadily as a market leader, it is essential to address the economic, environmental and social impacts produced by our activities on the local areas where we operate.
