Dutch builder Amels has delivered the latest model out of its 55-metre Limited Editions 180 series. The superyacht Nomad launched in April 2019 left Flushing yard last Friday, accompanied by a 12.25-metre tender INVINCIBLE BOATS Catamaran 40’.
The project has been managed by Ocean Independence, who will continue to provide operational management services for the vessel.
Nomad is trademarked with a bespoke colour scheme, created by her owner in collaboration with exterior designer Tim Heywood and Amels in-house design team. The yacht’s blue hull and anthracite grey superstructure create uninterrupted geometry highlighting the long lines of the bridge deck and sun deck.
Meanwhile, custom interiors of Nomad were developed by California-based boutique residential studio Bonesteel Trout Hall of the owner’s choice, in collaboration with the Amels interior specialists.
The yacht with a 190-square-metre sundeck, bridge deck sky lounge and main deck owner’s suite with a folding balcony can accommodate up to 12 guests across six staterooms. In addition, the crew quarters allow for a staff of 12.
Techno wise, Nomad will be capable of the top speed of 15.5 knots. Amels sales manager Rutger Dolk previously stated that “the owner was looking for proven ocean-going performance so he and his family can enjoy destinations around the world.”
Now headed to Gibraltar, Nomad is due to spend the first summer season in the Mediterranean before relocating to the US and the Caribbean. In the meantime, construction on the next available Amels 180 has already started, with delivery scheduled to summer 2020.
The delivery indicates high activity by Dutch yards in the recent several days, with Oceanco delivering 90-metre DreAMBoat and launching the 117-metre Project Acquaintance, along with the 50-metre Masa delivered by Heesen.
