One of the most prominent deliveries of 2019, the 136-metre Lürssen superyacht Flying Fox has recently caused vast social media buzz, rumouring the vessel belongs to the world’s richest person, Jeff Bezos. According to Business Insider, a representative of Amazon responded to the media, the Amazon CEO did not own the superyacht, and they had no information on who it belonged to.
Jeff Bezos’ net worth is currently estimated at $113.7 billion by Forbes. Founded by Bezos in 1994 who has remained its CEO ever since, Amazon pulled in $230 billion in revenues and a record $10 billion in net profit in 2018, up from $3 billion the prior year. In addition, Jeff Bezos owns The Washington Post and Blue Origin, an aerospace manufacturer developing a rocket for private human access to space.
At the start, Turkish media ANews reported Flying Fox was anchored off the coast of Datça, Turkey, on July 9. It was not specified whether Bezor was also onboard, but the tweets claiming the yacht belonged to Bezos have later been deleted, already gone viral on social media though.
Business Insider reports that Yashar Ali, the journalist who tweeted the photo and caption but later deleted his tweet, said the picture had been initially posted by jewellery designer Loree Rodkin.
The 16th longest superyacht and 14th largest yacht in the world in terms of interior volume, 136-metre Lürssen Flying Fox was delivered to her owner in March 2019.
With an exterior by Espen Oeino and an interior by Mark Berryman, the yacht's key features include two helipads, capable of hosting the largest helicopters out there. Another highlight of the 136-meter Flying Fox is the generous 12-metre transverse swimming pool located aft of the main deck. The superyacht also boasts large sea terraces, swim platforms for watersports.
To comfort her guests, Flying Fox also features a 400 square metre spa spread across two floors. The zone comes with a hammam, sauna, massage area, gym and cryo sauna. On the lower deck, spa is connected to the sea lounge which comes with a large Jacuzzi, and access to the sea through the dive centre and sea platforms.
The vessel’s main interior area, a spacious two-floor saloon, lies on the bridge deck, fitted with wood fireplace, dining table for 22 people and a cinema. The superyacht compliant with PYC can accommodate up to 22 guests across 11 staterooms, along with a crew of 54.
In addition, Flying Fox comes with a vast choice of tenders and toys. She stores nine tenders, including a custom 12.5-metre enclosed Limo, an 11-metre open Limo, a 9-metre beach landing craft and an 8.5-metre Super Air Nautique Coastal. The water toys range includes jet skis, sea bobs, and many more.
It has been recently announced that Flying Fox has entered charter market; charter prices have not been revealed.
Bilgin Yachts has revealed interior details of the 49.9-meter Camila, the second hull in its Bilgin 163 series, delivered in May 2024. The yacht was sold in 2023 to a U.S. client through FGI Yacht Group and Bilgin's commercial director Berkay Yılmaz.Unique Yacht Design developed the exterior, featuring extended deck spaces including a 21-meter sundeck and 12-meter bridge deck aft. Italian studio Hot Lab created the interior design, employing champagne, cream and pearl grey tones with wood, metal accents and Italian fabrics."The clean architectural volumes feature soft transitions between materials," said Hot Lab's Enrico Lumini. Notable elements include a full-height glass lobby partition, floating staircase, and sundeck skylight. The six-cabin layout includes a large beach club, with Bilgin claiming 20% more volume than comparable 48-meter yachts."Camila combines distinctive elegance with sportive exterior lines," said Yılmaz, noting the owner's active participation in the design process. No performance specifications or pricing details were disclosed. VisionF Yachts has announced the near-completion of its new 14-meter Superfast 46 performance boat, capable of reaching 80 knots. The model will make its global debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 (September 9-14), with the first unit launching in coming weeks.The carbon fiber composite vessel features twin Mercury 450 HP Racing Sportmaster engines with Mercury's Active Trim system and Racing Revolution X propulsion. Its 3.7-meter beam and 0.47-meter draft combine with hydraulic steering and optional joystick controls for high-speed maneuverability.Technical specifications include 600-liter fuel capacity for approximately two hours of operation at maximum speed, Garmin 19" navigation displays, and a Fusion Apollo sound system. Safety systems comprise three bilge pumps and dual fire extinguishers.The Superfast 46 represents a new direction for VisionF, known primarily for luxury catamarans like its electric E-Cat series and aluminum models up to 47 meters. No pricing or delivery timelines beyond the Cannes presentation were disclosed. Turkish shipyard Ares Yachts has introduced its first superyacht, the 62-meter ketch-rigged Simena. The steel-carbon composite vessel will debut at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show (September 24-27) after completing sea trials.Designed to RINA Charter Class C standards, Simena ranks among the world's top 25 largest sailing yachts. Taka Yacht Design developed the exterior, while Design Unlimited created the interior blending classic and contemporary elements. The yacht features teak decks, mahogany joinery, and a hybrid propulsion system enabling silent electric operation up to 6 knots or 14.5-knot top speed with diesel assistance."Simena blends classic ketch elegance with cutting-edge technology," said Piraye Sahinkaya Orhun, Ares Yachts Projects Director. Columbus Yachts has started building its new 48-meter Crossover model at Palumbo Superyachts' Savona shipyard. The steel-hulled explorer with aluminum superstructures follows two previously sold Crossover units (42m and 47m), marking the shipyard's first self-financed project in this series.Designed by Hydro Tec, the vessel features an 8.6-meter beam and 2.75-meter draft, optimized for stability and long-range cruising. The exterior combines explorer-style proportions with a bulbous bow and streamlined stern for ocean-going capability. The 34th Monaco Yacht Show will take place from September 24-27, 2025, featuring approximately 560 exhibitors across Port Hercule.
