Built by the German shipyard Kusch Yachts in 2008 to a famous Tim Heywood exterior design and Andrew Winch interior design, Al Mirqab has a length of 133 meters, a beam of 20 meters and a draft of 4.9m. Capable of accommodating 60 guests, the yacht has a gross tonnage of circa 5,000 tones.A pioneer in electric engineering, Al Mirqab can be powered by its 5 345kW generators that can allow its engines to achieve a cruising speed of 21 knots and a maximum speed of 23 knots.The yacht is owned by Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Prime minister of Qatar.
