The first Riva 88 Folgore launched
The new Riva 88 yacht is the first model to be launched by the Shipyard in 2020. The yacht was launched on Monday, 25th May in La Spezia, where the production facility dedicated to the 76-to-110-foot models is based.The Riva 88’ Folgore is the result of the collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli along with Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee headed by Engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.According to Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group "Riva 88’ Folgore looks like a vessel just back from a journey into the future: she is a dazzling flash of style, she is strong, she is performing, she is innovation. The launch of the first new model in 2020 represents a new Renaissance for the Ferretti Group, which restarts from Riva, brand becoming more and more a contemporary myth, the essence of Made in Italy and a tangible sign of a Country that starts again."The lines and elements inspired by the automotive world. The yacht use of innovative materials like carbon with traditional stylistic elements such as mahogany inlays and steel decorations.Riva 88’ Folgore offers the owner stern concept, with the garage door that swings open and can be positioned in two ways. The cockpit is a large space of 22 m² that features a huge sofa area with a table and also a bar unit with an electrically opening marble top.Also, the yacht has the glass hardtop located on the superstructure, which opens up and can be tilted toward both the stern and bow, to let in fresh air during navigation or when at anchor. The interiors were renewed in using precious materials such as wood, steel, marble and glass.
CC98 by Horizon Yachts in construction
Horizon Yachts has begun construction of a 32m customised CC98 yacht. Horizon Custom Collection 98 is fourth Horizon vessel for the experienced Australian owner, who requested specific – and somewhat challenging – details including accommodations for a helicopter as well as a submarine.The new owner requested that his new yacht would feature an exterior style similar to the Horizon E Series yachts. Thus, this new CC98 has a unique exterior profile, with expansive windows and a spacious interior within a 23’ 6” beam.To accommodate a touch-and-go helipad, the entire superstructure of this new vessel will be constructed of carbon fibre composite for strength and structural integrity for the helipad. Also, this yacht features a telescoping mast and radar arch to navigate the low bridges in Australia.The yacht can accommodate up to five guests in five staterooms including a full-beam, on-deck master suite. A large galley area is positioned aft on the main deck to facilitate dining either on the aft deck or at the interior dining table. Relaxation and entertaining areas are found throughout and the foredeck has been designed to accommodate a jacuzzi and large sun pad.The yacht has commercial-grade 10V 2000 series MTU engines have been chosen. The ZF trailing gearboxes are designed for full redundancy and to enable the ability to run on one motor, which reduces fuel burn and engine hours. Lithium-ion battery packs will also be installed to offset the house functions such as air conditioning and general electricity. The fuel capacity is 24,600l.The yacht is on schedule to be delivered to her owner in early 2021.
Bannenberg and Rowell showcases the design of 43m yacht concept Estrade
Superyacht design studio Bannenberg & Rowell have released a new superyacht concept, the 43-metre Estrade. Bannenberg & Rowell describe this yacht to be designed for the soul, for relaxed and healthy living and, above all, to connect with the environment. The yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests and nine crew on board and ample space for toys.Key features include the beach club aft that folds out on both sides. Elsewhere, the cantilevered sunning deck overlooks the beach club, ensuring “positively no FOMO”, the studio said. Elsewhere, Estrade features a sundeck with a spa pool. The jet skis and tenders meanwhile are stored at the bow.
Inside Azimut S8 by Azimut Yachts
Alberto Mancini's Azimut S8 is both aggressive and elegant, which makes it perfectly fit into the stylistic framework of the entire S-series.According to Azimut “S8 stands out from its competitors, primarily due to its unprecedented manoeuvrability, quiet operation and significantly lower fuel consumption”.Lightweight and durable material from which flybridge, deck and bathing platform are made, together with three Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines with a capacity of 1,000 litres. with. each is a guarantee of outstanding speed capabilities. The yacht can develop up to 34 knots or cruise at 27 knots. On top of that, the Carbon-Tech generation boat has a joystick instead of a helm wheel, active trimmer position control.The main system includes additional Kohler generator 28 kW, sea keeper Stabilizer NG16 and upgraded air conditioning system.Exterior has automatic bimini on the flybridge, cockpit table with carbon finishing top, cover for a garage door with logo. Also, underwater lights: 4 on each side and 4 on aft section and 4 hidden secret lights on the bow, 2 on the aft. Also, the yacht has a place for a spacious garage for water toys.Another feature of the S8, designed for eight guests, is its ergonomic layout: four spacious cabins, as many bathrooms, are located on the lower deck due to the compact engine room. The interiors, created by Francesco Guida, exude hospitality and sophistication. They can be decorated in one of two colours - “Platinum” and “Black Pearl”.
Mulder's Project Mana is ready for sea trials
Project Mana, the third hull in Dutch yard Mulder's ThirtySix series, has been launched and ready to begin sea trials at the North Sea.ThirtySix features a bespoke modern exterior with sleek aluminium construction and a continuous window line which culminates in a contemporary plumb bow. The four-cabin version accommodates eight guests on board. Five spacious cabins onboard accommodate up to ten guests. Both the four and five-cabin layout have Pullman beds in the forward guest cabins.The saloon, dining room and bar area are located on the main deck, with floor to ceiling windows providing panoramic views. The dining experience is enhanced by the addition of a folding side balcony, which brings seascape panoramas right to the table.The sun deck above the aft deck and main saloon include generous seating, lots of sun pads, a whirlpool bathtub with room for eight and a comfy dining place.The design features the Van Oossanen patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) to ensure comfortable sailing and fuel economy at all speeds. Twin 847 kW engines will ensure a maximum speed of 16.8 knots. The fuel consumption at economic cruising speed of 11 knots is less than 80 litres per hour.
