Heesen Yachts has announced the appointment of Hisham Abushakra as their new agent for the Middle East region. With over two decades of experience in the yachting industry, Abushakra brings a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern market, which has become increasingly important in the global superyacht industry.
The Middle East has emerged as a key market for luxury yachts, driven by a growing community of high-net-worth individuals and a strong interest in leisure boating. Heesen Yachts aims to strengthen its presence in the region, catering to the specific needs and preferences of Middle Eastern clients.
Abushakra's role will be crucial in connecting Heesen's shipyard in Oss, the Netherlands, with potential clients in the Middle East. He will work closely with Heesen’s leadership team, including newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer Ruud van der Stroom, Executive Commercial Officer Mark Cavendish, and Sales Director Robert Drontmann.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Cavendish said, "We are delighted to welcome Hisham to the Heesen family. Together, we will forge strong relationships and create a network to facilitate successful sales and further elevate Heesen's presence in the Middle East market."
Abushakra expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "It is a great honor to join Heesen as a brand and become a member of their team. Heesen's esteemed image and strong reputation among Middle Eastern yacht owners present significant growth potential in the region. I am excited to lead Heesen's sales efforts in the Middle East and look forward to building a long-lasting, strong relationship with Heesen."
Abushakra’s appointment takes effect on September 1, as Heesen Yachts seeks to capitalize on the growing demand for premium yachts in the Middle East.
Heesen Yachts is a Dutch ship building company that specializes in custom-built superyachts in aluminum and steel from 30m to 70m in size. Founded in 1978, it has launched more than 170 yachts since its inception.
