While in Livorno the first part of the Benetti Giga Season ended with the launch of as many as 3 Giga yachts, including the last one that saw as protagonist FB275, the 108-meter flagship of the Benetti fleet, in Viareggio 3 Classes were launched in less than ten days: a Delfino 95, a Classic Supreme 132 and a Mediterraneo 116.
108-meter FB275 project
In the year in which it celebrates its 50th anniversary, the Group has launched three Giga yachts over 100 meters, employing 700 people and around five million hours of work. A truly titanic undertaking, never recorded by any other shipyard in the world, and a challenge launched to the German and Dutch giants, especially if we consider that the construction of three was carried out in parallel boats of this size, whose launch took place over a period of only 100 days.
Launch of FB275
"But I would like to mention that in the world today, 18 ships over 100 meters are being built and four are delivered per year", says president Paolo Vitelli
Delfino 95 series
On 28 March in Livorno, the Shipyard celebrated the birth of FB275, a 108-meter Giga yacht, and on 21 March in Viareggio, it had already launched BD105 M / Y "Baya", the fifth unit of Delfino 95, a 29-meter classic yacht and elegant. The interior spaces of this boat, spacious and welcoming, are furnished with innovative combinations of marble, polished brass inserts and Frassino, Eucalyptus and Tay woods. The external lines, created by Giorgio M. Cassetta, are creating interesting plays of light in the rooms through large windows. The engines, two 1,000 hp Man V8s each, make it possible to cover about 2,400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Classic Supreme 132
On April 3, BS012 was launched, the twelfth unit of Classic Supreme 132, a 40-meter yacht whose exterior lines bear the signature of the architect Stefano Righini. The interiors are a project of the Interior Style Department of Benetti that finalized the furnishings following the indications and the requests of the owner. To give more character to the boat, in fact, these have been embellished with leathers with iridescent metallic tones and marbles with many veins. The convivial aspect of BS012 translates into the choice of placing a grid in the centre of the table located on the Fly. Large outdoor spaces, in particular on the Sun Deck and on the Upper Deck, are combined with the racy profile of the yacht, while the large full-height windows on both the Main Deck and the Upper Deck guarantee great brightness to the interior of the boat. At the bow of the Pilot House, a Jacuzzi offers a privileged sea view.
Mediterraneo 116 "Big Five" at the launch
On April 6th, 35.5 meters motor yacht called "Big Five" of the fifth Mediterranean 116 hull was launched. Also, in this case, the exteriors of the model are signed by Giorgio M. Cassetta. The décor concept is characterized by the presence of light opaque woods that combine with woods with grey shades - in a result of sophistication and modernity - and dark ash. A vast area is dedicated to the owner in the fore part of the Main Deck, with a private studio that isolates it from the most convivial areas of the yacht.
Generally speaking, it can be safely said that the Italian megayacht industry, with its supply chain, is enjoying a favourable period thanks to know-how and design particularly appreciated all over the world and we are looking forward to new units.
