Last Saturday, the youngest self-made billionaire ever Kylie Jenner celebrated her 22nd birthday aboard 91.5-metre Oceanco charter superyacht Tranquility off the coast of Italy, according to entertainment news outlet TMZ. The vessel was formerly known for her ownership by Jho Low under the name Equanimity, before she was seized and auctioned by the Malaysian government.

Kylie Jenner is a renowned media personality, member of the Kardashians family, businesswoman and the founder and owner of Kylie Cosmetics company launched in 2015. At the age of 21, she was named The Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Ever by Forbes (still, the title that many tabloids call in question).

The makeup mogul’s personal net worth is currently estimated at $1 billion, while in 2018, her company’s revenue increased at 9% to an estimated $360 million. At the moment, the company is worth no less than $900 million, while Jenner owns a 100% stake.

During the party, Jenner posted several photos on her Instagram account, dressed in a white gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Built by Oceanco in 2014, Tranquility has been hitting headlines since summer 2018. In August 2018, the Indonesian authorities seized Low Taek Jho’s superyacht at the request of the US Department of Justice, and transferred her to Malaysia. It is alleged, that the yacht was originally purchased by Low Taek Jho using money embezzled from the 1MDB state fund.

Shortly afterwards, Tranquility was put on sale as a part of the effort to recover funds stolen by Low and his cohorts from the state fund. In April 2019, the deal was closed on the vessel’s acquisition by Genting Malaysia Bhd for $126,000,000, which made only half of her initial price. In the meantime, the vessel’s maintenance had cost the government over $3,500,000 since her reclaiming in August 2018.

Tranquility was the first superyacht designed and built to be fully Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) compliant. She features exteriors by Oceanco’s in-house design team and interiors by Winch Design.

The yacht can accommodate up to 26 guests on-board, along with 28 crew members. The yacht is also trademarked with extensive spa area on the lower deck, plunge pools and customised interior.

Tranquility’s interior was designed by Andrew Winch and along with Travatino Veluto marble and bleached oak with wenge finishing, the decor has a subtle, oriental influence.  In the upper saloon, a fully operational, perspex-cased piano is a spectacular show piece, and there’s a luxuriously comfortable lounge area as well as a formal dining room for 12.

Guest facilities include a spectacular aft beach club next to a fully-equipped gym with a large balcony on the starboard side allowing direct access to the sea, and an indulgent spa suite - complete with a sauna, Hammam, experiential showers, plunge pool and a massage/treatment room.

On Tranquility’s aft upper deck, the large Jacuzzi pool takes centre stage, with an outdoor bar and sun loungers. Another Jacuzzi lays found forward, with this area directly accessible from the master stateroom.

The master suite features a private owner’s study and a large bathroom with a free-standing bathtub. The interior configuration allows for 9 further guest cabins, with two VIP suites. Furthermore, there are separate crew quarters for up to 29 people.

Tranquility achieves a top speed of 18 knots and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. She is fitted with zero speed stabilisers which increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor.

The yacht will has been made available for charter in the Western Mediterranean in summer, and in Caribbean Sea in winter, all from from €1,100,000 per week.

New Ferretti Yachts 1000 Flagship render is revealed
Italian superyacht builder Ferretti Yachts has announced its new flagship on boot Düsseldorf 2020. The 30.48 m long Ferretti Yachts 1000 superyacht with a carbon fiber hull promises to set a record for internal volume among 100-foot boats. Ferretti Group chief operating officer Stefano de Vivo stated that Introduced Ferretti Yachts 1000 will become the “biggest 100-foot boat on the market”. The exterior of the superyacht was designed by Filippo Salvetti, and the interiors were designed by IdeaeItalia Studio. The novelty will partly inherit the appearance from previous Ferretti Yachts models, and partly it will be able to guess the aesthetics of a series of yachts with a flybridge of another Ferretti Group brand - Riva. The racers will go inside the bulwarks on the sides of the two L-shaped sofas with tables, and not close on the nose, like all today's Ferretti Yachts models. Thus, the fence will not block the view of the company of guests, which gathered in the bow. On the other hand, the silhouette of the yacht will look more elegant due to the combination of curves: a thin line of rails, a pointed nose and bulwarks of the upper deck ending in a spacious flybridge. De Vivo stressed that the “revolutionary stern” of the 1000th model will be fundamentally new to Ferretti Yachts and will “change the way our owners use the stern of the boat”, he said. During the construction of the vessel, carbon fiber will be used, which will also lead to lower fuel consumption. “Because you’re lighter, you go faster with less fuel,” Stefano de Vivo said. Details of the layout, data on the number of guests on board and driving characteristics of the Ferretti Yachts 1000 will be published later. Meanwhile, Ferretti Group chief executive Alberto Galassi described the new model as “the biggest revolution in the Ferretti Yachts brand.”

Zero Emission Concept SY200 by Philippe Briand
Innovations in megayacht eco-design seem endless. One of the first designers to take a step forward in this direction in 2020 was a marine engineer, Philip Briand. From the headquarters of his studio in London, he presents the concept of sailing in superyachts, which puts zero-emission navigation at the center of all decisions. The latest concept from the French designer appeared after he was motivated to create a “zero-emission yacht”. This is the second concept from the new Briand family of self-contained yachts, which is on the heels of the 90-meter SY300. Briand previously described the SY200 as the "younger sister" of the SY300.The SY200 will travel in two ways: boat sails and underwater turbines, with which it will collect electricity for the 20 batteries that it will carry in its hold.According to Briand, the length of the yacht is 75 meters, and the sail is 2,000 meters, it generates more than 2,000 kW at maximum speed. To do this, he designed a helmet inspired by high-class, shorter sailboats. In particular, he emphasizes his inverted nose and central glass capsule.Ketch is equipped with a carbon fiber mast and rigging, as well as the same modern hull and upturned nose as the SY 300. Briand estimates the power of the yacht is 500 kW when sailing at a speed of 15 knots and 200 kW at a power of 12 knots."I believe we need to embrace ‘lateral thinking’ when it comes to the future of sailing yacht design. We want to work alongside owners to create the perfect renewable energy machine, using only wind, water and solar energy to run the yacht and provide an exceptional experience of peace on board and exploration of the sea.” - Briand said.At speeds of 15 and 12 knots, he expects to add 500 kW and 200 kW, respectively, which will allow him to generate enough energy on board to enjoy her 12 cabins. On board the vessel can accommodate up to 10 guests. Master-suite leads to a large terrace with a jacuzzi and four large guest cabins. The dining table with 16 seats in the cab is protected from the sun and boasts panoramic views.
