After the launch of M/Y Andiamo last week, 48m yacht in steel and aluminum, it is now the time of Ridoc, first MV19 model welcomed last Saturday June 10th by the Owner and his friends with all the Baglietto team. The project of 19.50m represents the evolution of the MV13 and has been designed by Francesco Paszkowski with Baglietto, both in terms of the exterior lines and the interiors. The shipyard's technical office is responsible for the hull, plant and propulsion designs.
The MV series draws its inspiration from the First and Second World War, paying tribute to the military crafts that made the history of the Liguria-based yachting brand by reinterpreting some of their features and shapes in a modern style matching them with architectural elements adapted from the open segment. The symmetrical air intakes along the hull free board underline the style of both Francesco Paszkowski and the Baglietto open lines themselves. The metallic dark grey color enhances the aggressive lines of the boat giving her strength and power.
The interior design, created in cooperation with architect Margherita Casprini, focuses on in-depth exploration of materials and finishes to combine a retro allure with contemporary comfort demands. Also, the most up-dated audio-visual systems with satellite TV are included on board: a feature which is unusual in boat of this size. The upholstery is in Canaletto nut together with white lacquered walls while all the floors are in dark oak.
The layout of Ridoc presents the master cabin forward and two guests cabins with ensuite bathroom amidship. In between is a spacious open dinette with comfortable sofas and a well-equipped galley. According to the owner wishes, a third cabin for the captain with direct access from the exterior has been included. The steering position with 24’ screen is exterior. Behind it there is a comfortable dinette with wet bar. Forward and aft there are two large sun pad areas with cushions.
The deep V-shaped hull allows high performances and improved seakeeping as well as perfect maneuverability. The yacht, entirely built in aluminium, can reach a maximum speed of approximately 40 knots thanks to twin MAN V12 1800hp engines.
After the summer cruising Ridoc will be presented as a worldwide preview at the next Cannes Yachting Festival.
Baglietto has recently revealed its 50m concept after announcing the sale of the Baglietto 46m Fast Lucky Me to a Mediterranean Owner.
On Wednesday, Azimut Yachts launched the second unit of the 38m Azimut Grande Trideck. The model has an extra deck in addition to the three traditional ones, completing a visual effect of cascading terraces from the top of the sundeck down to the sea. This all-new feature brings with it a full height beach area and transforms the cockpit into a private patio, which invites the environment in through cut-outs in the fashion plates. Dynamic exterior lines were designed by Alberto Mancini. The elegant interior has been designed by Achille Salvagni, who brought his famous air of wellbeing onboard the Trideck – with a less formal twist. The yacht’s hull is the second generation of the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull, which was developed for smooth sailing and class-leading fuel economy by Pierluigi Ausonio of Studio Plana in collaboration with the Azimut|Benetti R&D Department. Other factors which contribute to her superb seakeeping include the extensive use of carbon fiber to laminate the upper parts of the yacht, as well as stabilizer fins from CMC Marine, which are integrated efficiently thanks to their proprietary Argo software.Grande Trideck has a dual-motor option, with a pair of MTUs of 2400 or 2600 hp each. The first model under test, with an engine of 2600 hp, recorded a maximum speed of 24 knots, a range of 700 miles at 19 knots and, at a cruising speed of 12 knots, an autonomy of over 1700 miles. The new unit will cruise the Mediterranean seas, between Italy, Greece and Turkey.Azimut Benetti Group is a leading builder of luxury yachts from 11.8 to more than 36 metres in length. Northrop & Johnson offers tandem yacht charters for this summer in the Mediterranean – the 49.9m Mangusta superyacht Da Vinci and the 40m Mangusta luxury motor yacht Veni Vidi Vici.A tandem charter is an excellent option for charter parties with more than 12 guests, which is the maximum number of guests commercial charter yachts must adhere to. Tandem charters can welcome charter parties with extended family or more than 12 friends, event charters, such as weddings or corporate retreats, and more. Captain Mark Horsnail of Da Vinci and Captain Jason Pliatsikas of Veni Vidi Vici are finding great success through their collaborative charter program.“We’ve found that the market now is saturated [with charter yachts] and, as there are so many all vying for clients, it’s really important to play to your strengths and differentiate,” says Captain Horsnail. “Across our fleet, we are very lucky to have fantastic teams that are more like family than work colleagues. We are encouraged to think outside the box and be as innovative as possible and that’s great for our clients.”A tandem charter with Da Vinci and Veni Vidi Vici welcomes up to 24 guests. While that may seem like a lot of people, there is plenty of space between the two yachts for seclusion and privacy if needed. And with 15 crew between the two yachts, there are a lot of helping hands to ensure service is beyond five-star. “In a nutshell, with a tandem charter, you're getting a 90m of yacht that can travel at more than 30 knots with up to 24 guests and 15 crew and actually be in two places at once, if desired. The options are truly endless. We can split the itineraries, say if all the ladies want to go for a spa day in one location and all the gentlemen want to head for a famous golf course or follow the same one. Some charters may want to put all of the adults aboard one yacht and all of the kids and nannies aboard the other. A tandem charter provides a lot of flexibility. For those wanting a little bit extra, we can bring in specialist luxury concierge Ed Farrelly from Ellidore +Thadeus. His imaginative expert team really makes the experience extraordinary," says Captain Pliatsikas.Northrop and Johnson also has hosted other tandem charters with yachts in our charter fleet, including raft-up tandem charters during which multiple yachts were anchored together, allowing guests to move between the boats at their leisure and take advantage of all of the different amenities aboard each. On 18th June 2021 Lürssen unveiled and launched project Enzo, a striking and bespoke 115m superyacht, built for a repeat client who previously owned an 86m Lürssen. Nuvolari Lenard was responsible for the exterior and interior design and Moran Yacht & Ship managed and supervised the project, all bringing with them their wide spectrum of experience and consolidated knowledge. The target for Enzo was to create a healthy and family-focused life on board, with numerous offerings for sports and activities including the extra-large gym on the skylounge deck and the spacious wellness area on the lower deck. She was also designed to travel to her destinations in the utmost comfort. “Enzo’s design language is all about connecting her six decks – both the naval and tech elements with the living space – into one whole,” says Dan Lenard. “Her three decks integrated into the high bow guarantee sea-keeping in true ocean conditions, while also allowing her an innovative full-beam owner suite duplex.”As with all Lürssens, the yacht is equipped with state-of-the art technology and engineering systems. A heat recovery system in the generators heats the water for the pool, leading to reduced electrical power and emissions, while Dynamic Positioning enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring regardless of water depth.Enzo will be delivered during the year. Lürssen is a German shipyard with headquarters in Bremen-Vegesack and shipbuilding facilities in Lemwerder, Berne and Bremen-Aumund. Founded in 1875, Lürssen is one of the world's leading builders of custom luxury superyachts and has launched many of the largest yachts in the global fleet, including Octopus, Rising Sun, and Azzam.Credits: Lürssen/Klaus Jordan

REV Ocean was established in Fornebu, Norway, in 2017, with a critical mission to facilitate a new generation of ocean solutions and raise awareness of global impacts on the marine environment. The main platform to achieve this important mission is developing the world’s most advanced research and expedition vessel – REV Ocean. An extensive team of world-leading experts have been hired, and a broad network of science, research and innovation partners have submitted proposals to achieve our ocean saving mission. The vessel is currently under construction at the Vard Brattvåg shipyard in Norway. But the delivery has been "beset by delays caused by the yard" and could potentially not be in operation until 2026. REV Ocean/Bogdan Vasilescu“Over the past year, the construction of the REV Ocean vessel has been beset by delays caused by the yard. Due to the substantial delay from the yard, there is a right to cancel the contract. However, this right has so far not been used. The top priority for the owner is delivery of a compliant research and expedition vessel. Despite this setback, the REV Ocean ambition remains the same – One Healthy Ocean. During this time we will continue to implement our overarching mission, but as a result of the extended delay of the ship, all vessel-related activities will temporarily be put on hold. Unfortunately, this will have consequences for our entire team, but the intention is to reconstitute when the vessel is closer to completion,” says REV Ocean team. <iframe width=560 height=315 src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/IbZuaFZOQEo title=YouTube video player frameborder=0 allow=accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture allowfullscreen></iframe>The team will continue to work together with staff to find the best opportunities in this “challenging interim phase”.Credits: Rev Ocean; REV Ocean/Bogdan Vasilescu
