Originally known as a cruise vessel under the name of Sun Bay 1, she was reportedly bought by Mikhail Khodorkovski, owner of Yukos Oil who redesigned her as a 50-passenger yacht. Due to his problems in Russia, he sold the yacht to Andreas Liveras who modified her to 20 cabins to supply for charter's needs.Lauren L is a 90.00m (295.27 ft) luxury motor yacht. She was built by Cassens-Werft in 2002 making the yacht 13 years old. With a beam of 14.40m and a draft of 3.95m, she has a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure.She is classified by GL.

She is powered by MAK 6M25 engines of 2500hp each, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 15.00 knots and cruise at 12.00 knots.
