Built by Lurssen in 2006 to an Andrew Winch exterior design, Dubai has a length of 162 meters (531 ft) with a beam of 22.4m and a draft of 5 meters. This adds up with her steel hull and steel/aluminium superstructure to a gross tonnage of 12,488 tones.It is speculated that the original order for Dubai had been placed by the Prince of Brunei. It was however suspended in 1998 (bare hull completed) and finally sold to the Dubai government which launched her in 2006 at the Lurssen yard. Her owner is now Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum of Dubai.Accommodating for 24 guests in 12 cabins all with open balconies, the yacht features a 21-meter atrium, a swimming pool, cinema, blackhawk landing plattform, submarine garage and a dance floor. Dubai is classified by Lloyds.
