Benetti Hosts Second Legal Symposium on Yacht Industry Contracts and Compliance
Benetti has successfully concluded its second Legal Symposium, a two-day event that brought together lawyers from top international law firms and the shipyard’s in-house legal team to discuss key legal issues in the boatbuilding industry. Held on June 3 and 4 at various locations in Viareggio, the symposium focused on recent developments in contracts and international compliance.The event, attended by over 50 lawyers, took place at Hotel Plaza De Russie, Showroom Franchi Umberto Marmi, Cava Bettogli, and Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard. It included a central legal discussion where participants debated pressing issues in the yachting world. Topics covered included specific clauses in yacht construction contracts, the implementation of compliance procedures such as Anti Money Laundering (AML) in response to stricter international regulations, and the sustainability of yacht building.Georgia Agù, Group General Counsel at Azimut|BenettiGeorgia Agù, Group General Counsel at Azimut|Benetti, commented on the symposium’s success, stating, “This initiative is an opportunity to foster collaboration and sharing of knowledge between international law experts in our industry. SD112 Zulu3 Listed for Sale
Sanlorenzo Yachts UK has listed the 34-meter Sanlorenzo SD112 Zulu3 for sale with Nick Hatfield. Built in 2017, Zulu3 is part of Sanlorenzo’s semi-displacement series and is available for immediate cruising in the Mediterranean.Nick Hatfield highlights the yacht's well-maintained condition, noting, "Having viewed many yachts over the years, it’s rare to step onboard a yacht and believe it is much younger than the build year. But Zulu3 is indeed such a yacht." Zulu3 is currently under its second ownership, purchased in 2018.Zulu3 offers a generous volume of 266 GT and can accommodate eight guests across four cabins, including an owner’s suite on the main deck, a VIP stateroom, and two additional guest cabins on the lower deck. Each cabin features double beds, ample wardrobe space, a Loewe television with ceiling-mounted speakers, a vanity unit, and an ensuite bathroom with marbled showers and teak flooring. The yacht also has accommodation for five to six crew members in three cabins, including a separate cabin for the captain.The interior of Zulu3 is designed to maximize natural light with expansive windows. The main saloon includes a bar area with a fridge and ice maker, a large L-shaped sofa, glass coffee tables, and two cube poufs. The dining area features a sizable glass dining table for 10 and a forward bulkhead in silk georgette marble, ready for a piece of art.The upper deck saloon and exterior areas provide additional entertainment spaces, including a fully equipped bar, dining, sunbathing, and relaxation areas. Key features include a bar area on the flybridge with four stools, a fridge, and an ice maker, as well as an Aquasol hot tub with surrounding seating.Zulu3 comes with a collection of water toys and onboard entertainment, including a Williams 445 diesel jet tender, Seabobs, inflatable SUPs, an inflatable chair, and a Nautibouy Party Bana inflatable platform.Nick Hatfield emphasizes the yacht's readiness for new ownership, "Extremely well specified at build, and a specification which has only been added to during this ownership, this incredible yacht is ready for her new owner to explore far and wide. And, as the current owner is now taking a break from yachting, all bedding, towels, tableware, and spares are included with the sale of the yacht, making it a turnkey solution to cruising this summer."Powered by twin MTU 10V2000 M72 - 1224HP engines, Zulu3 has a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots, and an economical cruising speed of 10 knots. Currently lying in Corfu, Zulu3 is listed for sale at EUR7,750,000 VAT paid, with the option for the crew to continue with the new owner.Sanlorenzo was founded in 1958 in Viareggio by yacht builder Gionvanni Jannetti. ClubSwan 43 Launched by Nautor Swan
Nautor Swan has launched the ClubSwan 43, a new addition to its fleet. Designed by Juan Kouyoumdjian, this yacht aims to set a new standard in sailing by combining advanced technology with precise craftsmanship, intended for both enthusiasts and professionals. The ClubSwan 43 is designed as a versatile crossover yacht, capable of high performance in competitive racing while also offering a 'racing-cruising' experience. Kouyoumdjian explained, "The project aimed to create a yacht that excels in One Design and ORC classes, achieved through continuous discussions with sailors and end users."The yacht integrates advanced solutions with design features to ensure it excels in all aspects of sailing. Constructed with a vinylester infusion and carbon reinforcements, the hull and deck maintain structural strength and weight control. It also features a high modulus carbon fibre mast and boom, and a prepreg carbon bowsprit for both racing and cruising versions.Key design elements include a deep keel recess for enhanced performance, a high-performance rudder for optimal hydrodynamic efficiency, and precision-milled fin and keel. These features, inspired by America's Cup innovations, aim to meet high standards of functionality and performance.The sail and rigging systems are fine-tuned for optimal handling, based on years of racing experience. The ClubSwan 43 is also developed as a One Design package, with a standard keel that can be optimized for ORC circuits. The sail plan includes a square-top mainsail, providing agile and precise performance.Federico Michetti, Head of Sports Activities and CS43 Product Manager, stated, "ClubSwan 43 offers performance and style in both the Swan One Design circuit and worldwide rating racing events. This model transcends specific categories, offering a versatile sailing experience."Inside, the yacht features a spacious and adaptable interior by Micheletti+Partners. The interior is designed for flexibility, allowing 80% of it to be removed for racing and reinstalled for cruising comfort. The design focuses on practicality and comfort, using innovative and ecological materials.The ClubSwan 43 will debut at the Rolex Swan Cup 2024, competing in the Swan One Design Division. This launch reaffirms Nautor Swan's position in yacht design and manufacturing, combining performance and comfort in one vessel.Nautor Swan was founded in 1966 in Pietarsaari, Finland. S501 Rilassata Hits the Water in Genoa
Tankoa Yachts, based in Genoa, Italy, has launched M/Y Rilassata, the latest addition to its 50-meter all-aluminum series designed by Francesco Paszkowski. This launch marks the sixth hull in the acclaimed S501 series and the second in the newly improved S501 EVO lineup.The S501 series underwent a restyling last year, debuting the EVO version with M/Y Grey at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. Rilassata features several enhancements, including an open-plan saloon and dining area with larger windows, an extended fly deck, and increased exterior space to foster a closer connection to the sea.Distinctive for its beach-beige livery, Rilassata's interior design was crafted by Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. Differing from its predecessor, Rilassata includes a master stateroom on the upper deck, exclusively for the owner's private use, with the captain's cabin on the main deck. The main deck forward also features a gym and games room with an opening balcony. Guest accommodations consist of four ensuite cabins on the lower deck."The S501 series has proven tremendously popular with our international clients," stated Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa's Sales Manager. "This success is largely due to our flexibility in accommodating customer requests, even with a series model, which is evident in Rilassata’s unique interior layout."Rilassata is set for delivery to her French owners in July, just in time for the summer cruising season in the Mediterranean. This latest launch reinforces Tankoa Yachts' reputation for combining innovative design with customer-centric customization.Tankoa was founded in 2007 and began production in 2008. Feadship Launches Project 713, Advancing Environmental Goals
Feadship has unveiled the 59.5m Project 713, marking a significant step in its commitment to environmental sustainability. With an elegant blue-grey hull and white superstructure, Project 713 continues Feadship's progress toward its climate neutrality target for 2030, following the launches of Obsidian and Project 821.Designed by Studio De Voogt with interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Project 713 features several innovative technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact. It is the first Feadship vessel to incorporate solar cells for auxiliary power generation, boasting highly efficient silicon cells that produce up to 24 MWh annually. The yacht also includes a diesel-electric propulsion system and the capability to run on non-fossil HVO fuel.The hull of Project 713 is optimized for cruising speed rather than top speed, enhancing its energy efficiency. The vessel’s power system includes four generators and a 400 kWh battery, providing energy for both propulsion and hotel load.Project 713 is also notable for being the first new-build Feadship to use FSC-certified plantation teak for decking, ensuring sustainable harvesting practices. The yacht has undergone a Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) Assessment, ranking among the best in fleet with an impact 35% below average. This achievement is attributed to efficiency-enhancing features that offset the energy losses from electrical conversions on board.The launch highlights the significant economic contribution of the superyacht industry in the Netherlands, which accounts for over half of the country's maritime sector.
