Leading UK yacht builder Sunseeker has revealed new details of its first aluminium superyacht, the 49-metre Sunseeker 161. The model is set to become a flagship of the builder’s new Superyacht Division.
The tri-deck model will be entirely constructed by ICON Yachts in Holland, featuring Sunseeker’s distinctive exterior lines, dividing deck space into seven unique zones. Both interior and exterior spaces were developed in collaboration with British design studio Design Unlimited.
On the sundeck, there are four free-standing aft-facing sun loungers and a spa tub complete with jets, bubbles and underwater lights. Under the canopy top, guests can enjoy another large seating area with a kitted-out bar and an optional TV screen.
Down on the wheelhouse deck aft, yet another social space lays. Covered by the overhang of the deck above, with undercut feature-lighting, the wheelhouse deck can host a circular wooden dining table to seat 10 and direct access to the contemporary interior via sill-less full-height electric sliding glass doors.
The forward wheelhouse deck has a circular seating area, where an optional sail canopy can be added to provide shade, while a second cinema screen is an entertainment option for cosy nights under the stars.
The main deck comprises a generous living area with soft upholstered seating and a coffee table. Aft, steps lead up to a raised deck with room for over five flush sun pads behind a deep plunge pool.
One of the yacht’s highlights meanwhile is the lower deck beach club. It comes with three hydraulic balconies to extend the deck out with sit-up bar. The ultimate backdrop to the bar is a glass wall that gives guests a view into the plunge pool above.
Down below, the tender garage lays, with hydraulic lift up-and-out door suitable for a tender up to 7 metres. Alternatively, the space can be customised for the owners’ needs, to become a gym, workshop, sauna, dive room or locker room.
The Sunseeker 161 Yacht sees ten guests accommodated in five cabins in the standard guest configuration, with scope for up to 12 guests dependent upon the chosen general arrangement.
Meanwhile, the first Sunseeker 161 has been recently confirmed sold. Delivery will take place in September 2022. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing for confirmation of hulls number two and three.
