Philippe Briand unveiled the latest concept of a sailing yacht from his London-based design studio: a 90-meter (300-foot) SY300. With a traditional sailing rig, the 1,550-tonne ketch has created to surpass other sailing megayachts on the water today, as well as provide dizzying comfort on board. The previous concept of the famous designer 30-meter “Egoist” was introduced in 2017.
Unlike the growing number of sailing megayachts, which are actually motor yachts with sails requiring engines, the SY300 is a genuine sailing yacht in every sense.

I picture it being ideal for a passionate sailor who wants to stay in touch with the water and the power of the wind. They could even take the helm of the yacht themselves.” said Philippe Briand on the announcement of the SY300 design.
Driven by the wind, the SY300 will become a true leader in the new wave of “green” superyachts. Due to its hydrodynamic efficiency, it is possible to charge more energy through underwater turbines to charge batteries on board. Under the best conditions, a maximum speed of 20 knots will be achieved.
Guided by a desire for efficiency, Philippe Briand chose a conventional sailing rig with two masts to complement the modern hull with an upturned nose, since this turns out to be the most effective. Its main height rises 95.3 meters above the waterline, the SY300’s upwind sail area is 3,560m2, while its downwind sail area is 6,600m2, including a 3,500m2 spinnaker.
The construction of carbon fibre masts and rigging is largely based on the experience Philippe Briand gained during the development and construction of the two most famous sailing yachts in the world: the 67-meter S/Y Vertigo and the 73-meter S/Y Sybaris.
The length of the yacht at the waterline is 78 meters, and the maximum beam is 14 meters. The design includes three roomy decks and ample space for guests. On each deck, there is a swimming pool with sun loungers. A huge dining table with removable bimini in the centre of the flybridge seats up to 16 guests. The relaxing area has two L-shaped sofas with low tables, and a more secluded seating area on the front deck is ideal for secluded relaxation.
The final interior layouts can be adapted to the wishes of the owner, but the original SY300 drawings allow for a large, full-featured owner's room with en-suite bathrooms, an office and a terrace on the main deck. A huge salon with a full beam leads to the dining room on the port side or the game room on the starboard side and to the second door to the owner’s office. Another six guest suites are located on the lower deck, and also can accommodate up to 17 crew members. The gym on the lower deck has sliding doors and steps leading to the aft pool, and in the adjacent spa, there is a jacuzzi and massage room.

The Amels 6007 has set sail for the first time in open waters, commencing its sea trials after passing through the lock at Vlissingen in the early hours of Wednesday, April 16th.Designed by Espen Øino, this yacht features a distinct aesthetic characterized by geometric windows, complemented by a bright white superstructure and black accents along its waterline. Damen Yachting oversaw the naval architecture for the Amels 60 series.Interior designer Ben Harrison highlighted the modern yet homely atmosphere aboard the vessel, describing it as “undeniably contemporary, a home away from home with a sophisticated take on beach house luxury.” Living areas feature stainless steel, bronze, fluted detailing, and natural oak floors and ceilings.Notable amenities include a comprehensive dive center and accommodations for up to 12 guests and 12 crew members, excluding the captain.
