Dutch shipyard, Heesen Yachts has confirmed the sale of the 80.07-metre Project Cosmos, the largest in the shipyard's history. Due for delivery in April 2022, the all-aluminium yacht will reach a top speed of 29 knots.

The second new build contract that Heesen has signed this year so far, 2018 sees the Dutch shipyard continue from a previous successful year with 6 new build sales. With an interior volume of 1,700GT, Project Cosmos will have a top speed of 29 knots thanks to four MTU 20V diesel engines.
"Winch Design was appointed by the owners to create a streamlined yacht with innovative design traits but still retaining the Heesen DNA: muscular sportiness and timeless elegance.' the shipyard's press release stated. "The extensive use of glass and the combination of soft and sculpted shapes make Project Cosmos a yacht packed full of contemporary charm; a thoroughbred racehorse, the next evolution of the Heesen breed."

Galactica Super Nova
Heesen's current flagship is the 70-meter Galactica Super Nova launched by the Dutch shipyard in 2016. The yacht, introduced later that year at the MYS, had replaced the 65-meter Galactica Star as the yard's flagship. At this year's Monaco Yacht Show, the yard said they would go after the megayacht market. A year prior, they had opened a new 85-meter dry dock, which will allow it to build Project Cosmos.
According to Forbes, Russian billionaire Vagit Alekperov, acquired Heesen Yachts in 2008 from Frans Heesen for a reported sum of €100 million. According to the magazine, the shipyard had posted profits of €5,2 million in 2013.
