In addition to wowing the crowds at the Cannes and Monaco boat shows, the 30-metre Moonen Matica Bijoux also gave her owners a fine debut season of cruising in and around the Mediterranean. Now this first Moonen in the Caribbean line has returned to the shipyard in the Netherlands for warranty work and some custom changes based upon the way the owners are enjoying their boat. With exciting plans ahead for next year in Scandinavia, Bijoux’s owners are now translating their practical experience on board the boat to optimize how they and the crew use and run her.

Director of operations Sietse van der Zee says:
Our location halfway between the Mediterranean and Scandinavia made the choice to come back to Moonen for this work an even easier one. It also always pays dividends to have maintenance and refit work carried out here at the Moonen yard where the people who built and know her best are situated. We are certainly delighted to see Bijoux back and to bring the boat to an even higher degree of bespoke perfection for her owners. And it is a great opportunity for potential clients to see Moonen quality at first hand by visiting the yard between now and April
The work being carried out includes adding tender whips to the side of the yacht to facilitate mooring, modifying the passerelle to enhance the efficiency of the mooring lines, creating a teak step on the flybridge to offer the captain another visibility option when manoeuvring in harbour, adding an extra horn to the mast to make her aesthetically symmetrical, adjusting the anchor winch speed and modifying the piping in the engine room to facilitate access to the bilges.
Moonen has launched the yacht in May and handed her over to the owner in July.
