Royal Huisman’s refit devision Huisfit has welcomed the 52-metre Feadship superyacht Broadwater. The vessel will undergo major conversion works at the yard’s newest Amsterdam facility, due to be completed by spring 2020.
The project has been conceived to see Broadwater transformed into a ‘modern and liveable home away from home’ with charter capability, as the owner’s brief states.
The scope of work will comprise multiple comfort and aesthetic upgrades both inside and outside. The renewed exterior and interior styling has been created by Adam Voorhees, who was inspired by the owner’s input.
MCM Newport’s Peter Wilson assisted the yacht’s owner with the selection of the refit shipyard and will also oversee the conversion project at the new Huisfit premises of Royal Huisman in Amsterdam.
The main works will include a 4-metre extension of the hull, including a re-styled stern; Rebuild of the sundeck including a new composite mast with sun awning; interior re-styling and modifications to the owner’s, guest’s and crew areas.
What is more, board systems required for a Classification change from private use to commercial use will be added, along with superstructure and hull repainting in a new colour scheme and installation of new teak and furniture on the main and bridge deck.
Broadwater spotted at Feadship facility in June 2019
Broadwater was launched under the name Blue Moon in 2000, as the world’s first all-aluminium yacht over 500 GT. She features designs by Donald Starkey, along with naval architecture by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.
The yacht completed an all-encompassing refit in May 2017. The modifications included a completely new interior design refit by Adam Voorhees for a six-stateroom layout. In June, she was spotted at Feadship yard in Amsterdam, for pre-season deck and engineering works, according to Feadship.
Currently listed for sale through Worth Avenue Yachts, Broadwater is asking $24,900,000.
