Heesen Yachts has confirmed that the construction of YN 20555, known as Project Serena, is on track for delivery to her owners in Fall 2024. The hull and superstructure have been successfully joined, and the next stages of the build are in progress.
To ensure no cross-contamination between steel and aluminum fabrication, Heesen has created strict protocols in collaboration with Talsma, a Friesland shipyard specialising in steel craft construction. The steel hull of Serena arrived in Oss after a two-day journey by sea, canal, and river from northern Holland, guided by the tug Vlieter and push boat Aegir. The aluminum superstructure arrived a day later.
Rick van de Wetering, Heesen's Chief Operation Officer, thanked the company's partners and suppliers for their continued support, citing their role in Heesen's success. Owner's representative Richard Kaye of brokerage firm Arcon Yachts noted the customisation of each Heesen 55m Steel yacht to reflect the owner's unique preferences and lifestyle.
"There are no two Heesen 55m Steels that are the same. Of course, similarities exist, but each yacht is customized to reflect their owner's tastes and requirements. At Arcon, we are very familiar with this class of yacht, having sold two, and we work closely with the client and the shipyard to ensure the final product perfectly suits the owners' wishes and family lifestyle," mentions owner's representative Richard Kaye of Monaco-based brokerage firm Arcon Yachts.
Luca Dini Design and Architecture and Heesen's in-house interior engineers are finalizing the interior decoration. Serena's interior design was developed as a luxurious backdrop for her future owners to express their personality. The warm and harmonious interior features soft and delicate tones, oak and eucalyptus veneers, and marble accents.
The owners and their team are working on personalizing all areas with bespoke artwork and intricate details in fixed and loose furnishings. The goal is to make every space perfect for every moment on board.
"This is the most inspiring period of the design process, as we collaborate closely with both client and shipyard to craft a beautiful design which we know Heesen's specialists will execute flawlessly. We are also deeply involved in the engineering aspects of our design and truly relish this confluence of Italian creativity and Dutch perfectionism. Serena will be a masterpiece," says Silvia Margutti of Luca Dini Design and Architecture.
