The world’s first Mangusta Maxi Open 132 was sold by TWW Yachts to its longstanding US clients. The buyer of the 39.85-meter Mangusta Maxi Open 132E superyacht by Overmarine Group was introduced by Jean-Claude Carme who closed the sale with the support and assistance of Overmarine’s sales department. This “E” model features a restyled hull and superstructure and is equipped with a new engine package that consumes less fuel and delivers an improved range.
Her distinctive sporty lines were designed by the Overmarine in-house team. Collaborating with Overmarine for this latest edition is the owner's chosen interior designer, Iconia. The yacht has undergone significant modifications and upgrades, including the incorporation of a state-of-the-art marine sound system by Focal/Naim. Notable changes have been made to the flybridge, and the pool has been relocated to the foredeck.
The yacht offers accommodation for up to 12 guests across five staterooms, including a VIP suite, two doubles and a twin with pullout beds. The owner’s suite will feature a walk-in wardrobe/dressing area and his-and-her bathrooms.
Powering the yacht are three MTU 16V 2,600 M96L engines and three waterjets (two KaMeWa S63-4 and a KaMeWa S63-B4). She will have an impressive cruising speed of 30 knots and a range of 520 nautical miles, the yacht can reach top speeds of 35 knots.
To put this into perspective, she could travel from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Freeport, Greater Bahamas, in just over two hours and return without requiring refueling. For Mediterranean cruising, owners could easily enjoy brunch in St Tropez, go shopping in Monaco, and witness the breathtaking sunset in Calvi, Corsica.
“My clients think highly of Overmarine and enjoy spending time on their Mangusta 108. They weren’t in the market looking to replace but to upgrade. After weighing up many options with different builders, the new Mangusta Maxi Open 132E was a perfect fit for them and their plans for Mediterranean cruising. The fact that she was already a considerable way through construction was an added bonus,” says Jean-Claude Carme.
Construction of the Mangusta Maxi Open 132E has already begun at Overmarine’s production site in Viareggio, Italy, and will now be managed by TWW Management and Capt Hervé Le Gand. Delivery is expected in July 2024.
Overmarine Group was founded in 1985 by the Balducci family. The shipyard builds open and displacement power superyachts under the Mangusta and Mangusta Oceanco brand names.
