The "Envisioning Yachting Excellence Summit," organized by the Marche Yachting and Cruising Association (AMYC), the Marche Region, and ATIM, recently concluded its two-day event. The summit, aimed at showcasing Marche's entrepreneurial excellence and unique territory, brought together a select group of national and international journalists.
Established in 2021, the AMYC now comprises 28 companies in the nautical supply chain and collaborates with the Port System Authority of the Central Adriatic Sea and the Marche Polytechnic University. The association's goals include fostering stronger relationships with local institutions, achieving economies of scale in education, and enhancing competitiveness in international markets.
The summit's central theme was design, emphasizing Marche's renowned craftsmanship. The opening press conference in Portonovo featured remarks from Deputy Mayor Gianfranco Zinni, who highlighted the significance of luxury shipbuilding to the region's economy. ATIM President Marco Bruschini discussed the importance of improving infrastructure and mobility to better accommodate tourists.
Councillor for Economic Development Andrea Maria Antonini underscored the region's support for the nautical sector through innovation, development, promotion, and energy efficiency initiatives. Admiral Vincenzo Vitale and Vincenzo Garofalo, President of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, spoke about the necessity of inter-institutional cooperation and the port's strategic plan to support local businesses and the nautical industry.
Donatella D'Amico, Director of the Regional School Office, and Professor Donato Iacobucci of UnivPM highlighted the critical role of education in producing highly skilled professionals for the industry. Massimo Rocchi, Director of the Marche Region for Vocational Training, emphasized the need for immediate and accurate responses to labor market demands.
The July 25 forum at Ancona's Teatro Ridotto delle Muse featured notable speakers from various industries, including fashion, design, and high-level contracting. Gino Sabatini, President of the Marche Chamber of Commerce, opened the panel discussion. Riccardo Bilancioni of Residenza 725 stressed the importance of messaging in marketing unique products, while Francesca Muzio of FM Architettura di Interni and Francesco Beccacece of Massari Design discussed the value of storytelling and understanding client needs.
Laura Pomponi of Luxury Projects highlighted the functional and creative aspects of design, and Marco Gaspari of Poltrona Frau shared insights into the company's design-driven history since 1912. Testimonies from Fabrizio Crisà of Elica and Gianluca Garofoli of Garofoli Group reinforced Marche's reputation for excellence in design and craftsmanship.
UniMC Chancellor John Mc Court emphasized the university's role in providing creative and critical elements to enhance collaboration with companies. The event concluded with remarks from Marche Region Chief of Staff Fabio Pistarelli, who reaffirmed the regional council's commitment to supporting the nautical sector and addressing past challenges to achieve future success.
