The Custom Amels 78 has been unveiled in-full for the first time since arriving at the Amels and Damen Yachting facilities in Vlissingen in 2020. She features Espen Oeino design for exterior, her interior was penned by Zuretti Interior Design. She will now spend the next few weeks quayside at the Vlissingen City shipyard ready to undergo a number of sea trials.
“Seeing her head out into the daylight has just reaffirmed how well the design works and what a beautiful yacht she is. We still have a long way to go yet and the next few weeks will be critical as we put her through her paces with the sea trials ahead of us, but today is definitely a day to be celebrated,” comments Andrew Tree of Superyacht Technical Services.
Her initial floating took place earlier this year during a private event attended by the owner’s team, the designers involved in the project and the Amels and Damen Yachting team. The Amels 78 can accommodate 14 guests and 26 crew members. She features the very wide side decks that can be utilised as private guest balconies, the large open top deck and the large pool aft.
“When she is delivered in 2022, the Custom Amels 78 will be the largest Amels superyacht built to date in terms of volume (Gross Tonnage of 2885). Seeing her in the open air and daylight is a real reminder of her size and presence. The entire team at Amels and Damen Yachting is incredibly proud to have reached this latest milestone, something we could not have managed without the great cooperation of the owner’s team and all our co-makers. We are now looking forward to the next phase and getting her out on the water for the sea trials,” says Daan Langezaa, Amels and Damen Yachting Project Manager.

Sialia Yachts has announced the upcoming launch of the Sialia 45, a 14-meter electric cruiser combining high performance with sustainability. The 49.9-meter motor yacht Tsumat, built by Trinity Yachts, has been sold after a substantial price reduction of USD9 million. Frank Grzeszczak Sr. of FGI Yacht Group represented the seller, while Yannis Zagorakis of Hargrave Yachts acted on behalf of the buyer. The sale follows Tsumat’s prominent display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), where the adjusted asking price drew considerable attention.Delivered in 2012 by the U.S.-based Trinity Yachts, Tsumat features an aluminum hull and superstructure. The yacht’s design was helmed by Geoff Van Aller, with interiors crafted by Ramon Alonso. A comprehensive, multi-million-dollar refit in 2023 brought modern updates to the vessel, enhancing her appeal on the market.
