At the Monaco Yacht Show 2023, the Columbus Sport 50 M/Y K2 marked a triumph by securing the esteemed title of Best Fraser Charter Boat for vessels exceeding 50 meters. Competing against a field of over 80 contenders, the crew of M/Y K2 excelled with a remarkable tally of over 80 charter days, outstanding customer reviews, and adept management of unforeseen events.
The vessel, constructed at the Palumbo Superyachts shipyard in Ancona, boasts a distinctive plumb bow design, emphasizing improved seakeeping. The collaboration between Hydro Tec studio and Palumbo Superyachts resulted in a vessel of unparalleled elegance and functionality. With Luca Dini Design & Architecture overseeing both exterior and interior design, M/Y K2 accommodates 11 guests across five spacious cabins.
Innovative features include a hydromassage pool on the upper deck, a fitness area in the owner's quarters, and a versatile beach club with a retractable platform. The vessel's interiors exude luxury, incorporating exotic wood essences, lacquer and steel details, and designer furnishings, including selections from Fendi.
Powered by two 2000 HP MTU engines, M/Y K2 achieves a maximum speed of 21.5 knots, maintaining a cruising speed of 17 knots. Notably, the vessel prioritizes noise and vibration control, achieving an 85% reduction at maximum power.
The integration of advanced technology extends to a multitouch control panel by TEAM Italia, ensuring optimal safety and maneuverability. Additionally, the Columbus Sport 50 embraces its dual identity — a sporty vessel capable of high speeds without compromising on-board comfort and range at economical speeds.
Equipped with a tender and a jet ski, the M/Y K2 positions itself as a versatile and luxurious charter option. The vessel also features a cutting-edge entertainment system developed in collaboration with Videoworks, facilitating seamless external connections with Sailor 900 High Power VSAT antennas and three Cradlepoint 5G-ready dual modems.
Palumbo Superyachts began to take root in 2008, when the Columbus Yachts brand was established, and in 2011 launched its first 54 meter superyacht, emblematically christened “Prima” (“the First”). Currently, Palumbo Superyachts comprises a representative office in Monaco and a logistics network of five shipyards in the Mediterranean (Ancona, Malta, Marseille, Naples, and Savona), and also operates the following brands: ISA Yachts, Extra Yachts, Columbus Yachts, Mondomarine and Palumbo SY Refit.
