Benetti has revealed a new line of superyachts, named Now, during the first day of the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
This new project adds new energy to the Benetti identity without changing it and creating a new benchmark for the future. Created by the shipyard in collaboration with architect Stefano Natucci and British Design Studio Redman Whiteley Dixon, Benetti Now will ensure Owners unique yachts, in line with modern standards of seafaring excellence, with reduced construction time. The shipyard, infact, is ready to replicate the semi-custom model it uses at its Viareggio shipyard, involving the construction of superyachts based on predefined naval platforms that combine the benefits of haute couture interior decoration featuring extensive customization, with the production times usually possible only with series manufactured yachts.
With Benetti Now, this working method has also been introduced at the Livorno shipyard, with two major differences. First, it is applied to yachts over 50 meters in length. Technically and financially speaking, it is a much more complex process and represents a revolution for the international yacht making sector when considering that the full custom business model will continue to be applied at the same time. With Benetti Now, the shipyard also introduces a new business model that brings significant benefits in terms of time and money, as well as being designed to satisfy the needs of brokers and owners the world over.
The goal is to simplify as far as possible the ideas and desires of a potential customer when faced with a major purchase like a yacht over 50 meters in length. And to deliver their “turnkey dream” in the shortest possible time.
At group headquarters in Viareggio they call this revolution “Smart-Designed Custom Series”. The word Smart encapsulates all the experience Benetti has gained from building over 350 yachts and its conversations with hundreds of customers through the years. Design, in the sense that they are pre-engineered vessels. Custom, because of the high level of customization, and Series because these yachts are pre-designed, with no significant variations possible. The shipyard exploits all the efficiency of familiar platforms that have been carefully studied and designed. Or in other words, it uses previously designed hulls as the base on which to build a product that fully satisfies the owner’s needs.
The superyachts in the new Benetti Now range will all be over 50 meters in length and built from steel and aluminium at the Livorno shipyard. Four models will be available: B164 (50 meters), B192 (58.6 meters), B214 (65 meters) and B240 (73 meters).
Benetti Now, while representing an absolute novelty, recognizes the importance of tradition, past success and brand recognition. The choice of designer Stefano Natucci to design the exteriors is no coincidence, because his designs have played a key role in the Shipyard’s glorious history.
With Benetti Now I did what I wanted and Benetti got what it wanted. We worked together to achieve the same goal right from the outset through to the final pencil stroke. This is a winning design because it represents the perfect answer to current market needs. The style is clean and straightforward. I always work to obtain compactness, flowing lines and the right distribution of volumes. If the empty spaces are in the right places, the boat is beautiful. I love to change, but if I had to design these four boats again, I’d do it the exact same way

The construction of two hulls will start in the next few months: the 50-meter model, designed to remain under 500 Gross Ton, and the 65-meter model.

The third 27.4-meter motor yacht from the Arksen 85 explorer series has been listed for sale by Sam Tucker of Moravia Yachting, with delivery expected in 2026. The vessel will be available for purchase 18 months after signing the contract.Building on the success of the first two yachts in the series, Mamaluna (delivered in 2023) and the second Arksen 85 (scheduled for delivery this year), the third hull is being constructed in aluminium to a design by Humphreys Yacht Design, with interiors by Design Unlimited. Production is taking place at the UK-based Wight Shipyard, owned by Ocea.The Arksen 85 accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins or six guests in three cabins, including a full-beam master suite. All cabins are located on the lower deck, with the option for additional berths. The yacht can operate with minimal crew, with quarters available for two or four crew depending on requirements.Functionality and sustainability are central to the Arksen 85's design, reflected in its versatile interiors and carefully selected materials. Worktops in the galley are made from recycled plastics, and upholstery uses waste fashion fibers or recovered ocean plastics. However, the interior design is highly customizable to meet client preferences.On the main deck, the Arksen 85 features an open-plan lounge and galley with direct deck access, a lobby, and a dayhead, with stairs leading to the bridge deck. Here, guests will find a second saloon and a study area. Outside, the yacht offers an al fresco dining setup, an aft deck lounge, and additional bench seating forward of the bridge. The Arksen 85 is highly customizable, with options for accessories such as cranes, stabilization booms, and storage for a large tender and water toys.The yacht's aft deck is reinforced to handle weights of up to 4,000 kg, making it suitable for vehicles or submersibles. Brokers emphasize that each Arksen vessel is designed for global exploration, offering confidence, comfort, independence, and efficiency characteristic of modern long-range cruising yachts. Damen Yachting has successfully launched the third vessel in its acclaimed Yacht Support 53 series at its state-of-the-art facility in Antalya. Turkish yard Alia Yachts has announced the sale of a custom-built 65-meter superyacht, currently under construction at its Antalya site. Provisionally designated as hull ALY651, the steel and aluminum project is destined to become the company's flagship upon delivery.The project marks a continuation of Alia Yachts' collaboration with Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, known for their work on the 45-meter San. For naval architecture, the project relies on Netherlands-based Diana Yacht Design, which promises to incorporate the capacities and amenities typical of an 80-meter yacht, including five cabins – featuring an owner's suite with a private lounge – and a hydraulic swimming pool that can be raised to create a large, open entertainment area on the main deck aft.Additional amenities include a hot tub on the sundeck and another, larger one on the foredeck reserved for the owner's exclusive use.Gökhan Çelik, President of Alia Yachts, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting the shared passion for yachting and the expertise gained over decades.
