Antonini Navi has won the confidence of another customer, who has booked a slot for three months, until the end of May 2021, to build an Offshore Patrol Vessel (O.P.V.) 56m in length under 500 GT. This is a custom yacht developed in partnership with naval architect Fulvio De Simoni for a European owner.
O.P.V. 56, a 56m yacht with austere lines and unequivocally military inspired styling (hence the name), was designed with a ‘functionalist’ approach, where every aspect of the project reflects its purpose.
“At sea, simplicity is an added value: seagoing performance, easy to use onboard spaces and services, and rational construction are qualities that experienced owners cannot fail to appreciate,” commented Fulvio De Simoni. “This mature and substantial vessel reflects the values embraced by Antonini Navi, whose experience and specialisation in marine and naval constructions at the very highest level ensures exceptional quality and safety”.
The design features an imposing high bow to ensure safe navigation and clean, pared down lines that give the ship a unique personality. The continuous foredeck is designed to accommodate a helipad, while the upper deck is entirely devoted to the master suite. The aft deck, occupying over 150 square meters, is multifunctional and can be adapted to cater to any solution and customisation.
Aldo Manna, Antonini Navi Partner and Sales Director, said “We are very pleased with such a concrete expression of interest just 10 months after the shipyard’s debut in the world of superyachts. The market seems to appreciate our production and design flexibility, but most importantly our willingness to build truly custom superyachts made to measure according to our customers’ requirements”.
The O.P.V. 56 project is one of few superyachts of this size on the market to have a gross tonnage under 500 GT.
The Pertusola shipyard in the Gulf of La Spezia was bought by Walter Antonini in 1977. Since then, Antonini Navi has been a family-held leader in superyacht custom build and refitting.
