The iconic 70-meter charter yacht, Sherakhan, capable of accommodating up to 26 guests in 13 cabins, is being refitted by Icon Yachts. "You won't be able to recognize her, she is getting a complete new look and wen you will see her you won't believe it is the same boat" commented her owner, Jan Verkerk.
The most noticeable change to take effect during the project will be the 70-meter being repainted to a minimalistic, modern white color from its current blue hull. A/V upgrades as well as cosmetic interior changes will also take place during the refit.
Her technical characteristics allow her to cruise to the most remote areas of the planet, accommodating up to 24 guests within her 12 staterooms. Sherakhan will be available for charter starting from December in the Caribbean and then in Northern Europe in the summer of 2018.

Having arrived for the refit at the shipyard on September 13th, Sherakhan's refit is set to be completed in just several weeks, with her departing on a world cruise shortly after, including the Baltic Sea, Greenland and Antarctica as destinations.
Built by A. Vuijk & Zonen in 1965, the classic yacht started out as Princess Margaret. Its present owner, Dutch entrepreneur Jan Verkerk, managed to breath a new life into the boat in 2005, when it was rebuilt at his yard and renamed to Sherakhan.

With a beam of 12 m and a draft of 4.05 m, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Twin Caterpillar engines of 1380 hp each give her a maximum speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.

Sherakhan is on the market asking €24,500,000 since 2016. This follows Verkerk's fleet expanding with a new flagship, the 77-meter Legend that he converted into a superyacht in 2016 at the Icon facility as well.
