This market demand is clearly reflected in both Merzliakov’s and Thomas’ designs. Hayden Thomas’, from The Yacht Professionals, E39 was conceived with world cruising in mind; the key to which is an efficient and shallow draft hull. Such a feature enables comfortable sea passages and exploration of coastlines.
“I am looking forward to a fruitful collaboration with GCCM. Australia has a long history of designing and building iconic yachts. This event and partnership is a renaissance of our heritage,” declared Thomas.
Although these designers are now based in Australia, both have had European experience. Hayden Thomas started his career with design powerhouse, Redman Whitely Dixon then returned to his native West Australia to work with SilverYachts. Whilst Misha Merzliakov was a Naval Architect and Yacht Designer for Tony Castro Yacht Design in the United Kingdom before working with Austal and Oceanfast.
The Yacht Professionals unveiled their concept - the 39.5-metre all-aluminium expedition yacht Project E39. With a beam of 8.3-metre and a draft of 2.1-metre, Project E39 will be capable of reaching remote areas and allowing guests to discover some of the world’s most amazing places. According to the renderings, the exterior profile boasts sharp angles, military appearance, a vertical bow, which is maximizing interior space. A large swim platform is situated near the water in the aft area, while al-fresco dining area, with a raised table and stern-sided sofa for 10 guests is located on the main deck aft.
On the upper deck, there will be seating along the stern and more formal shaded al-fresco dining area, with access to the sky lounge, as well as deck in front of the helm station, providing another large table for al-fresco meals and relaxing outside with gadgets, drinks and reading material, and the foredeck is fitted with sun pads. Jacuzzi is situated on the sundeck, while the sunpads are on either side, plus shaded sun loungers to the aft, as well as bar under the central section.
Accommodation on board is up for 10 guests across 5 staterooms , which includes master suite on the main deck and 4 guest cabins on the lower deck. There is a spacious storage area on board, so the yacht is ready for long trips far away from ports.
