After the successful launch of 80-metre Columbus flagship superyacht Dragon, the Italian builder introduces the 120-metre concept aimed to overdo the recent premiere. The builder is ready to begin construction, as soon as a customer occurs.
Previously collaborating for Dragon, Columbus Yachts continued partnership with Italian design studio Hydro Tec for the 120-metre Columbus Classic concept, representing Dragon’s ‘natural evolution’. The new vessel will be trademarked with long slender lines, along with floor-to-ceiling windows and even frameless glass railings.
Key features on-board comprise a 19-metre beam, 260-square-metre master suite on the upper deck with a private office, beauty room, massage room and private access to an outdoor lounge and Jacuzzi; and a generous beach club aft. The latter features a full spa, gym, bathing platform and covered swimming pool, complete with a waterfall. A glass-bottom pool on the main deck meanwhile, features a waterfall that connects to a second covered pool located underneath.
The top-deck aft will be equipped with a helicopter deck, along with the sunbathing area and sky lounge. One more al fresco dining lounge will be found on the top deck, complete with a rounded seating area and chimney in the centre.
The vessel will come with a tender garage for two custom designed tenders of around 12 metres, as well as a crew service RIB and array of smaller water toys, such as Jet skis and sea-bobs. The garage will be located forward of the beach club.
The 120-metre will offer accommodation for up to 22 guests in 11 cabins, with guest cabins located on the main deck. The lower deck forward is dedicated to the crew quarters, comprising 20 double crew cabins, two messes and an independent galley, with two more cabins forward of the main deck.
Powered by twin MTUs, paired with two Rolls-Royce Azipulls for better maneuverability and efficiency, along with a central Rolls Royce booster, the yacht will feature a cruising speed of 16 knots under a range of 7,000 nautical miles, and a top speed of 20 knots. The 120-metre also has five gensets to keep the hotel loads for large owner’s parties well powered away from shore.
Columbus Yachts is a part of Italian builder Palumbo Superyachts, Other brands from Palumbo portfolio have also introduced new super yacht concepts recently, with the 57-metre Discovery by Mondomarine and the 100-metre Crossbow to be built by ISA Yachts.
