76m Research Ship Petrel Tips Over at Edinburgh Dockyard
The 76-meter research yacht Petrel dislodged from the dry dock at the Imperial Docks area of Leith, Edinburgh. The 3,000-tonne vessel, now owned by the US Navy, is leaning at a 45-degree angle. The incident happened because of strong wind on Wednesday morning. Information about the incident began to arrive around 9 am. 68m Soaring Left the Market
Ocean Independence has announced the sale of the 68-meter Soaring. The yacht was sold by Peter Hürzeler and Daniel Küpfer in an in-house deal. The 68-meter yacht attended the Dubai International Show 2023. Built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2020 she was designed inside and out by Focus Yacht Design.She can accommodate 12 guests across six cabins. A master suite with a private terrace and a library located on the upper deck. Guests' staterooms are decorated according to a distinct theme, allowing owners to distribute staterooms according to their guests' preferences. On the lower deck Soaring has the wood-paneled beach club with a spa and wellness area complete with sauna, hammam and a well-equipped fitness room. The hot tub with a bar is located on the sundeck. In terms of performance, the twin MTU engines give her a top speed of 16 knots and allow her to cruise at 14 knots. Soaring’s last known asking price was EUR88,000,000.Abeking & Rasmussen was founded in October 1907. The German based shipyard is looking back to 114 years of ship and yacht building. New Appointments: Ali Tanir Became General Manager at VisionF Yachts
Turkish yacht builder VisionF Yachts has appointed Ali Tanir as General Manager. Founded just four years ago, the Istanbul-based shipyard specializes in producing composite and aluminum motor catamarans and is now poised to capitalize on Tanir's vast experience. Ali Tanir has almost 20 years of experience in the yachting sector. From 2012 to 2023, he held various executive positions at Numarine starting as Communication and Brand Manager, and then moving into the role of Sales and Marketing Manager and Head of International Sales.Ali TanirPrior to joining Numarine, Ali Tanir worked for a number of companies and institutions on the market, namely Istanbul Offshore Club, Vicem Yachts, Yuka Yacht and the UIM Class 1 Powerboating series."We strive to establish ourselves in the elite of the yachting world, and the new move will help us achieve this," said Coskun Bayraktar, Founder and Owner of VisionF Yachts. First 37m AB120 Launched by AB Yachts
The first hull of the 37-meter AB120 Beach launched by Italian builder AB Yachts in Viareggio yard. The biggest model of the shipyard’s fleet, she has an innovative multifunctional area at the stern with retractable terraces which extend the lounge areas a few centimeters above sea level. She has an easily-managed space for tenders and numerous water toys. Her notable features also included an extensive use of glass, especially in the main saloon, an open-air cinema, which is located on the sundeck and a convertible gym room. The interior can be fully customized, but in this hull the owners have the furniture by Flexform. AB120 can accommodate ten guests in four spacious staterooms on the lower deck and a crew of five. Thanks to a draft of 1.35 meters the yacht can easily cruise at the Caribbean and Bahamas. The yacht has an impressive top speed of 45 knots and cruise at 40 knots. Italian shipyard AB Yachts was founded in 1992. In 2001, AB Yachts was acquired by the Fipa Group. Today Next Yacht Group is the owner of the historic Maiora, AB Yachts, and CBI Navi brands.
