Adding a touch of elegance to the catamaran class, McConaghy Boats has recently unveiled the interiors of the MC82P catamaran that set sail from the Australian shipyard in December. Named Bundalong, which translates to "joined together" in Aboriginal, this 23.77-meter vessel is promoted as an all-encompassing option suitable for extended cruises, short weekend getaways, or even commercial charter services.
Crafted inside and out by Ker Yacht Design, this 24-meter catamaran features streamlined GRP hulls and an aerodynamic yet roomy superstructure. Onboard, the main deck revolves around a spacious salon housing a lounge, dining area, and an open-plan galley. Passengers can access a large aft deck with an outdoor dining table and comfortable sofas or a scenic lounge located forward of the superstructure.
The living spaces boast expansive horizontal windows that invite ample natural light, adorned with crisp white fabrics, gleaming marble countertops, and light wooden paneling.
The layout encompasses four generous guest staterooms and two crew cabins. Additionally, three of the guest staterooms can be transformed into twin cabins if additional accommodation is needed. The arrangement of any McConaghy multihull is customizable to suit individual client requirements.
On the exterior, the flybridge hosts an informal open-air dining area and another lounge. Aft sunbeds provide uninterrupted views and an opportunity to soak up the sun.
A notable feature is found at the stern, where a hydraulic aft platform accommodates a 5.79-meter tender or provides extra deck space.
Powering the MC82P are twin Yanmar engines, each with a rating of 875 hp. Controlled from the flybridge, the catamaran can reach a top speed of 28 knots or cruise at 10 knots.
Bundalong recently underwent a sea trial near Hong Kong, showcasing its spectacular presence on the waves. McConaghy has a larger 30.48-meter catamaran in the works.
