Valerio Rivellini’s new concept is the almost 56-metre-long explorer, the result of a combination of different ideas, providing all the reliability of military vehicles with the comfort and innovative power of the most luxurious pleasure yachts.
One of the many innovative features is the extendable stern, a Rivellini signature style that is taken a stage further, with an increased twin-deck – main and upper – aft surface zone, thereby creating areas of unprecedented versatility which are well suited to different types of navigation.
A hybrid engine has been installed to restrict the boat’s impact on the ecosystem to the utmost in the name of increasingly greater environmental awareness and a respectful, authentic relationship with the sea.
Extended Explorer is the ideal vessel for a family wanting to cruise around the world in total comfort, stability and safety in all weather and sea conditions.
The water lines, storage capacity and on-board technology make this project the ideal yacht for anyone wishing to undertake adventurous yet comfortable cruises, perhaps with the idea of discovering unexplored landscapes.
The interiors, with a layout customizable according to the owners’ preferences, are characterized by an elegant and relaxed atmosphere, where the chosen lines and materials are reminiscent of a marine environment, thanks also to the choice of nubuck leather fabrics in blue shades and white lacquer. The concept proposed by Rivellini envisages a super-panoramic owner’s suite on the upper deck, naturally full-beam, from which the surrounding landscape (and, without any visual interruption, the wheelhouse as well) can be observed.
Rivellini, a naval engineer and yacht designer who has been at the helm of the eponymous studio since 2009, explains how it all began: “Like many of my other projects, Extended Explorer is the upshot of the desire to make a dream come true: this superyacht was designed for families who want to cruise around the world, alternating between landscapes that are totally different to one another from every point of view, starting with the climate and the sea. While Extended Explorer’s stability and robustness enable it to tackle the icy seas of the north in total safety and comfort, the exterior spaces are ideal for fully enjoying the warmer seas, from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, thanks to their breadth and versatility, which are further enhanced by the extendable stern.”
Valerio Rivellini founded his studio, specializing in yacht design, engineering, refitting and composite materials, in Naples in 2009.
