Renowned yacht designer Tommaso Spadolini has recently revealed the interior of the 56m superyacht, My Legacy, which he designed for Codecasa. The yacht's owner, an Arabic businessman, wanted a luxurious palette of rich reds, blues, and gold to contrast with the contemporary exterior lines of the yacht.
M/Y Legacy
Spadolini and his design team drew inspiration from the luxuriousness of the past, sourcing the woods, marbles, and brocade to create the yacht's lavish interior. The result is a masterful blend of traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary eye for detail and perfection.

Spadolini's genius lies in his ability to identify, customize, and match the materials and colors used to create a consistency of styling that is thoroughly modern. Every element of the interior required the sort of craftsmanship that is becoming rarer and rarer, and most of the details are handmade by modern suppliers who are real artisans.

My Legacy is a custom-built, four-deck yacht with a sleek, dynamic aesthetic. The owner's apartment, comprising two cabins and a private lounge positioned forward on the main deck, features a red and gold theme that continues throughout the yacht. The VIP cabin on the deck below is fitted out to an identical standard as the owner's accommodation, while the remaining two guest cabins are in beige and gold.

The showcase fabric was sourced from Loris Zanca, matching the palette of the interiors. Italy's most accomplished artisans, such as Ginori 1735, Badari Firenze, DL Décor, Zanaboni, and Stilnavi, were involved in this project, which spanned five years due to Covid disruptions.

Spadolini says that the styling is opulent, yet there is a real sense of consistency. The cabinetry is the same throughout the boat, with an identical pattern around the edge that they chose after 15 or 16 separate trials.

This interior may be classic, but it displays a passion for the sea and for yachting, linked to the luxury of yacht interiors of the past.

“We met all the requirements of the client, of course, but also produced an incredible example of craftsmanship. The styling is opulent, yes, but in this opulence is a real sense of consistency. We have not used many colors, and the cabinetry is the same throughout the boat, with an identical pattern around the edge that we chose after 15 or 16 separate trials. This interior may be classic, but displays a passion for the sea and for yachting. It is linked to the luxury of yacht interiors of the past, and I’m old enough to remember some of those!” comments Tommaso Spadolini.
