Explorer Octopus was built for the late Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, and is so far the largest yacht for sale in 2020. She is 126.2 metres in length and was built by Lürssen in 2003, with her most recent refit having been completed in 2019. The exterior was designed by Espen Øino and the interior by Jonathan Quinn Barnett.
She has been regularly used for research projects. Octopus can accommodate 26 guests in 13 cabins and 63 crew across 30 cabins. She has plenty of room for entertainment – a pool, al fresco dining, a bar and pizza oven. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities including a spa, library and bar, a recording studio and cinema, gym, sauna, and a basketball court.
Another great collaboration between German yacht builder Lürssen and Espen Øino International. This yacht has a great history of luxury charters and spectacular celebrity parties. Her decadent interior was made by the world-renowned Reymond Langton Design.
At 95,2 metres in length, she offers two helipads, an open deck pool, a full-service spa and a jacuzzi. Kismet can accommodate 16 guests in 8 opulent staterooms.
The 95-metre Madsummer was launched in 2019. Her exterior lines were designed by Harrison Eidsgaard and her modern and contemporary interior by Laura Sessa. Madsummer can accommodate up to 12 guests in 10 spacious staterooms. She features a 12-metre swimming pool, a huge spa and extensive diving facilities. This yacht can reach a top speed of 18 knots and a cruises at15 knots.

The 60 Sunreef Power Eco electric catamaran has been named Catamaran of the Year 2025 in the Multipower category. The award was presented on April 23 during the International Multihull Show in La Grande Mothe, France. The prestigious accolade is granted by Multihulls World magazine to recognize the most innovative and outstanding catamarans in the industry.The 18m catamaran features an advanced solar energy system with photovoltaic panels integrated into the hulls, bimini roof, and superstructure. Viken Group has introduced its latest innovation in the luxury cruise yacht sector – the 196-meter REI. Heesen Yachts has announced the passing of its founder, Frans Heesen, on April 23, 2025, in his hometown of Oss. He is survived by his wife Petra, children, and grandchildren.Frans Heesen’s leadership and talent for identifying and nurturing potential were fundamental to the success and growth of Heesen Yachts. Known for his visionary approach and Dutch courage, Heesen took bold steps that shaped the future of the shipyard.One of his most notable achievements was the decision to build the groundbreaking yacht Octopussy, despite significant risks. This project not only succeeded but also brought global recognition to Heesen Yachts.Throughout his career, Frans dedicated himself to creating a family-like atmosphere at the shipyard. Even after the company was sold, the family environment he established remained strong. Modeled after global forums like COP and Davos, the three-day event featured 19 panel sessions and 8 keynote talks focused on sustainability, modernization, and generational engagement.Keynote speaker Jean-Claude Biver, former CEO of Blancpain and Hublot, emphasized innovation through his "first, unique, different" philosophy, while Azimut Benetti's Giovanna Vitelli led discussions on practical sustainability measures.
