Luxury yacht manufacturer Sunseeker is looking to hire the 100 new skilled staff who will support the introduction of several new models planned for 2016. Commenting on the recruitment drive, Sunseeker's CEO Phil Popham said: "We are pleased to announce these recruitment plans which give a clear signal of the positive times ahead at Sunseeker. We have a clear and robust business plan to invest in long term growth and sustainable success, backed by our majority shareholder Wanda Group whose stable ownership and strong financial backing enables us to plan and invest for the future."
This time last year, Sunseeker was in the process of shedding around 300 administrative and managerial jobs.
Georgina Rickman, spokeswoman for the company, told us that the new roles will be based at the manufacturing operations in Dorset, United Kingdom, covering construction trades including Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical, plus Engineering trades including Mechanical Engineering, and Composites - GRP Laminating and GRP Finishing. This news from Sunseeker further demonstrates the increasing strength of the superyacht industry.
The business employs around 2,000 people and produces around 150 boats every year, ranging from 50-155ft. Its current range consists of 18 boats.
