The Genoa-based boatbuilder has sold the 80HT #007. “We’re always ready to introduce engineering and design modifications, but I can honestly say that this time we’re looking at the most extreme and advanced 80HT yet,” says Matteo Belardinelli, Otam sales and communication manager. “The client is not just an expert owner, he’s also an experienced captain and came to us with a detailed list of technical and aesthetic requests of his own.”  



The full Kevlar lamination of the hull and deck and the carbon fiber superstructure of the yacht are complemented by additional unidirectional carbon fiber for local reinforcements in high-load areas, resulting in an extremely robust and rigid structure that is also lightweight, delivering higher performance in terms of top speed and fuel consumption.

While the twin MTU 2600hp engines coupled with Arneson drives and the hull lines by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design & Services remain the same, almost everything else has been re-engineered according to the specific technical specifications of the owner-operator. More details will be released as the project progresses.

To increase natural light and ventilation, the side windows of the yacht are larger than in previous iterations and can be opened electrically. The one-piece windscreen without pillars is also larger, and the hardtop comes with a redesigned sliding skyroof, offering the thrill of a pure Open while providing the protection of an enclosed helm station.

While the interior layout is yet to be finalized, it will be fully tailored to the needs of the suite owner-operator, in line with Otam's bespoke approach.



“The client came to us because he wanted to create something unique and exclusive and knew we would do what it takes to not only meet but also exceed his demands,” concludes Belardinelli. 

The 70HT is close to handover and the new 90GTS is currently under construction at the shipyard.

The shipyard’s history started in 1954 in Liguria. Its professionalism is what made it stand out, very quickly becoming the first authorized Riva yacht Service Center for the Med Sea. In the 80’s Otam fit around 25 yachts for an American builder before starting his own production of Otam 45’ and 55’, earning significant attention. Today Otam has produced around 90 yachts, becoming an Italian specialist, and, together with its custom range, offers a limitless choice between 45’ and 130’.

Special One Ready to Set Sail
Royal Huisman has announced the successful delivery of Project 406, known as Special One. This custom motor yacht, measuring 52 meters (171 feet), is set to depart from the shipyard in the Netherlands on her maiden voyage, marking a significant achievement in superyacht construction.Special One is an Alustar aluminum motor yacht designed for both luxury and performance. She features six decks and can achieve speeds over 30 knots, as demonstrated during extensive testing in the North Sea. Ocean Independence has added the 34-meter yacht Bluephire, designed by Christian Leyk and built by Tureddi, to its sales portfolio. This yacht exemplifies the Mediterranean lifestyle, merging advanced technology with artisanal craftsmanship.Tureddi, a shipyard founded by a family with a passion for yachting, has decided to branch out after 45 years of contract work with renowned Italian brands like Sanlorenzo, Codecasa, and Benetti. Having built 60 yachts, they now plan to construct a fleet of 30-60 meter semi-custom yachts under their own name.Bluephire, a 34m new-build project, is a true reflection of Tureddi’s values. The Italian Sea Group Finalizes Sale of Viareggio Shipyard
The Italian Sea Group S.p.A. (TISG), a global player in luxury yachting, has finalized the sale of its Viareggio shipyard to Next Yacht Group for €21 million. The shipyard was acquired as part of the Perini Navi acquisition in 2021.Due to its structural characteristics, the Viareggio shipyard was deemed unsuitable for the production of yachts over 50 meters, which is TISG’s primary focus. This segment accounts for approximately 90% of the company's current order book. According to Boat International’s ranking, TISG is the leading player in Italy and the third globally in this size range.The disposal of the Viareggio shipyard is part of TISG's strategic plan to streamline operations and focus on custom-made mega and giga-yachts. In 2023, TISG also sold a building previously dedicated to Perini Navi offices for €12 million. With the recent sale of the shipyard, the total value of Perini Navi assets disposed by TISG amounts to €33 million.Giovanni Costantino, Founder and CEO of TISG, expressed satisfaction with the transaction, highlighting its alignment with the company’s strategy to concentrate on large custom yachts.
