Finnish boat manufacturer Saxdor Yachts is embarking on a transformative journey in its sales approach, with a strategic focus on the domestic market. Starting December 1, 2023, the company has taken direct control of its sales operations for Finland, opting for an in-house model to enhance customer interactions.
In a significant move, Saxdor Yachts relocated its headquarters to the scenic seaside district of Ruoholahti, Helsinki, in October 2023. This strategic shift aims to reinforce the company's commitment to internalizing market activities within its home turf. The new office, nestled in the maritime heart of Helsinki, serves as a centralized hub for bolstering customer relationships and optimizing sales and service operations.
Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor, articulates the vision behind this change, stating, "We want to reform the industry and test a new business model where the customer is served directly by the manufacturer. This approach not only brings us closer to our clientele in Finland but also allows us to provide unparalleled value, for example, in the form of exclusive customer events."
Rusi emphasizes the appeal of the new location, "We have wonderful new premises located in a maritime setting at Helsinki’s Ruoholahti, accessible by boat to within 20 meters of the entrance."

To ensure comprehensive support for customers' warranty and aftersales needs, Saxdor Yachts has announced strategic collaborations with specialized partners in Helsinki and Turku. These partnerships will cover boat maintenance, warranty repairs, and delivery services, reinforcing Saxdor's commitment to a seamless customer experience.

Addressing the pre-owned boat market in Finland, Jon Hautamäki, Head of Sales at Saxdor, draws parallels with innovative models like Tesla. He encourages customers to leverage online platforms for used boat sales while Saxdor remains steadfast in delivering new, high-quality vessels and an exceptional customer journey.
With this revamped strategy, Saxdor Yachts anticipates robust sales in the domestic market, particularly in the 32 and 40-foot boat categories, projecting annual sales of 10-20 units. "We look forward to meeting our home market customers and being able to offer exclusive customer experiences to welcome new members of the Saxdor family in the future!" adds Hautamäki.
Saxdor Yachts is set to showcase its fleet and unveil new models, including the Saxdor 400, at the upcoming Helsinki Vene / Båt exhibition in February 2024, further solidifying its commitment to innovation and customer-centricity.
Since its inception in 2019, Saxdor Yachts has experienced exponential growth, producing over 1000 boats and capturing the industry’s attention with their innovative approach. Now, with the introduction of the Saxdor 400 GTO, Saxdor Yachts aims to make waves in the 40-45 ft sport boat market, leveling up from the game-changing entry-level 200 and mid-range 320 models.
