Royal Huisman’s dedicated refit department, Huisfit, secures exclusive and exceptional deep water facilities at Emden Dockyard.

Access to temporarily-rented deep water locations can occasionally be restricting so the Huisfit-team decided it was time to establish a new strategic deep water facility on a permanent basis. It had to be well within range of the Dutch maritime services cluster. It had to offer exceptionally comprehensive facilities and non-tidal access. Most important of all, it had to offer complete exclusivity to Huisfit and its customers. Therefore Royal Huisman is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached between Huisfit and Emden Dockyard that meets all of these expectations and more.
Huisfit has secured access to over 300,000m2 of outstanding facilities for its superyacht refit projects in Emden, just over the Dutch border in northern Germany. There are dry docks for superyachts of almost unlimited size, as well as state-of-the-art covered refit halls, advanced technologies and equipment, well-equipped offices, canteen facilities and comprehensive support services.
One of these halls alone measures 118 x 22m with a height of 22m, providing 2.596m2 of clean, modern workspace with workshops on both sides and on two levels – ideal for superyachts demanding controlled conditions and privacy. Deep water approaches and lock facilities ensure round-the-clock access for yachts of any size. There are also excellent connections by air, road and rail.
Huisfit has already proven itself to be the refit service of choice for yachts such as Eos, Skat, Samurai and Adèle as well as for numerous Royal Huisman-built yachts including Hyperion, Antares and Arcadia.
The addition of this superb and exclusive new facility - alongside Vollenhove and other flexible locations - will further consolidate Huisfit’s position among global leaders in superyacht refits.
