The first explorer mega-yacht project by the Italian commercial shipbuilder will feature Tommaso Spadolini design and Rolls-Royce Marine architecture and engineering.
Following the announcement that the Italian supplier for oil and gas industry turns its expertise to the superyacht sector, the new Rosetti Marina division unveiled the details of the 85-meter expedition supply vessel concept.
The hull was developed by Rolls-Royce Marine in Norway to ensure her optimal efficiency and seaworthiness even in heavy weather. The yacht’s architecture allows for “dry” cruising thanks to the narrow-entry bow that reduces sea spray and a high main deck forward that is 12.5 meters above the waterline.
In turn, the yacht’s design is deeply rooted in Rossetti heritage as a commercial-grade vessels manufacturer.
“This is the most “authentic” yacht I’ve ever designed in my 40-years career”, confessed the boat’s exterior and interior designer, Tommaso Spadolini.
“A fundamental part of the design process was reviewing the many commercial ships launched by Rosetti to date. These rugged, seaworthy vessels are required to operate around the clock in all weathers, and that DNA has been integrated into the design of the 85-meter expedition concept”, he added.
Although the exterior styling of the expedition yacht is essentially masculine, Spadolini’s signature strip glazing makes for the overall elegance of the boat’s profile.
The project will be offered to customers in two alternative deck arrangements, with central or aft helicopter landing pad. However, the aft helipad offers certain practical advantages. For instance, a sailing yacht can be stowed amidships without effecting helicopter operations.
The portside garage on the lower deck has space for two tenders and various personal watercrafts, while the MOB tender has it’s own covered bay on the foredeck.
The interior layout is focused on the owner’s comfort, with a full-beam open-plan master suite and private spaces on the upper deck forward, featuring a lounge, study, and own access to the open foredeck with pool. Another salon aft can serve as a media room or a sky lounge. The main deck houses four double guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms. The lower deck and part of the main deck are reserved for the crew of up to 12 members. The technical areas are located on the bridge deck, and that’s where the captain’s cabin is situated as well.
Rosetti's 85m flagship measures 2.200 GT and is equipped with Rolls-Royce engineering, power electric system, and propulsion units. Four MTU 16V 4000 engines will be combined with Rolls-Royce patented azimuthing pulling propellers, allowing for a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. Apart from low drag and high hydrodynamic efficiency, Azipull technology ensures the boat’s agility, fuel efficiency, and course keeping.
Rosetti Superyachts aims to deliver luxury superyachts, long-range supply vessels and expedition yachts of up to 150 meters in length. The division carries out its activities at San Vitale shipyard, which is strategically located in Ravenna Harbour and features a total area of 64.700 square meters.

This area transforms into a relaxation oasis complete with a jacuzzi, sunbathing space, and direct access to the sea, enhanced by folding gunwales that expand usable space and provide unobstructed views of the surroundings. The generous sun deck, beautifully sheltered by a substantial hardtop, further illustrates the Crossover 47's adaptability to the desires of its owner and guests.The vessel's exterior is accented with bold, modern contours, showcasing taut surfaces and dynamic shapes, particularly concentrated in the bow area – reminiscent of explorer yachts. Its displacement hull features a bulbous bow and flat, forward sections.In terms of versatility, the cockpit is designed to accommodate both a substantial tender with a built-in crane at the upper deck's aft, as well as a swimming pool complemented by social and relaxation zones.On the main deck, the interiors reveal a spacious lounge capable of seating up to 12, complemented by a pantry and a well-equipped professional galley as the layout extends toward the bow. Below deck, the accommodation offers a total of four cabins – two double and two twin (with twin beds and a pullman bed) – alongside a luxurious master cabin on the main deck that features a central bed, wardrobe, vanity desk, office space, and a double bathroom with a central shower.The upper deck includes a circular outdoor dining table for six, expandable to seat ten, and features an inviting lounge and entertainment area alongside the helm station at the bow. The sun deck is designed for relaxation, featuring ample sunbathing space, a large bar, and a second swimming pool.The crew of nine is accommodated in four double cabins located below deck, with the captain's cabin conveniently situated on the upper deck near the control area.Powering the Columbus Crossover 47 are two Caterpillar C32 engines, each generating 970 kW and allowing for a maximum speed exceeding 15 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. With a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 10 knots, the yacht features fuel tanks with a capacity of approximately 60 cubic meters. Freshwater needs are met by two desalinators capable of producing around 8.6 cubic meters per day, filling a total freshwater capacity of about 8.5 cubic meters. Additionally, the vessel is equipped with two pairs of stabilizers that function in both underway and zero-speed conditions, ensuring optimal comfort on the water.Columbus Yachts was established in 2008. The renowned Italian design studio Pininfarina has introduced an impressive new superyacht concept named Kairos 80, measuring 80 meters. This remarkable vessel is part of Oceanco’s Simply Custom collection, designed to streamline the commissioning process by utilizing a proven naval platform developed by Lateral Naval Architects.Originally adapted from a previous 90-meter collaboration between Pininfarina and Oceanco in 2021, Kairos 80 presents a visually striking exterior with sharp, angular lines, creating a unique silhouette on the water. Designer Daniele Mazzon describes the concept as “a peaceful oasis in which to relax and enjoy time on your own terms.”A standout feature of Kairos 80 is its “360-degree” design philosophy, which aims to foster a connection with the ocean below, the sky above, and the companions onboard.
