Pershing unveiled the design of their largest yacht ever, the 43,53 m Pershing 140. "Last July we showed the Owners that took part in Pershing's 30th anniversary celebrations in Palma de Majorca the first renderings of the new yacht, and their reaction was exactly like mine is every time I look at the pictures of this new amazing flagship: a shudder of excitement. What we call "thrill" within the Company that only Pershing is able to give," said Ferretti Group's CEO Alberto Galassi.
The design is the result of a collaboration between Ferretti Group's Pershing team and naval architect Fulvio De Simoni. "This flagship is highly innovative, as typical of the brand's DNA," commented De Simoni, who designed all Pershing models since 1985. "On the other hand, we decided to make the least possible invasive changes, preserving those iconic design elements that make every single Pershing yacht truly unmistakable at first sight. Such a consistent, harmonious evolution, always in line with an unfailingly original approach to yachting, endows the Pershing 140 with an unprecedented style, which is however coherent with a history I am proud to be part of."
The sporty, competitive character loved by Pershing owners has been reflected in the steel grid on the bow, which is reminiscent of a coupe car. The designers have aimed to combine this aggressive sporty personality with smart engineering features to ensure maximum comfort on board.
The main deck of the vessel hosts a spacious living area followed by a dining area. There are also the captain's quarters and the Owner's suite. In the forward most section of the cabin are a large walk-in wardrobe to the right and two large separate heads to the left. The aft part of the main deck has been raised into a mezzanine level, creating more space for a huge water-level beach club with fold out sides. The beach club is connected up to the sundeck to create a multi-level outdoor space for the owner and their guests to enjoy.
The lower deck features 4 guest suites, including three VIP double suites and one twin cabin. Two of the VIP cabins are positioned along the sides, towards the stern, while the third one can be found at the extreme bow. The twin cabin with private head, instead, is situated on the left side of the yacht.
Another alluring feature of the Pershing 140 is the concealed private area up forward. When the yacht is either anchored or moored, the otherwise hidden area is opened up to reveal a customizable zone for taking in the sun.
As for the performance, the Pershing 140 has three possible engine configurations to offer. The owner can choose between two options of twin MTU 4000 M93L engines, either 12V or 16V, with hydro-jet propulsion to take the yacht to 24 knots and 33 knots respectively. For for the speed lovers, a third variation of four MTU M94 engines would deliver a maximum top speed of 38 knots.
The Pershing 140 is expected to make her premiere in 2018.
