Massimo Gino, co-founder of Nauta Design, highlighted Nyumba's uniqueness within the SW96 series. He noted the vessel's distinction as Southern Wind's inaugural yacht featuring hybrid electric propulsion, engineered in collaboration with BAE Systems to comply with IMO Tier III regulations. Gino emphasized the evolution of the GT deck configuration, originally introduced on the SW105 Taniwha, showcasing sleek and simple lines.
Crafted to fulfill the desires of an astute owner seeking a fast and efficient global cruiser manageable by a short crew, Nyumba represents an innovative approach. The owner's preference for a dynamic profile, an uncluttered deck layout, and ergonomic positioning of deck equipment for ease of use, safety, and guest comfort resulted in aesthetic and practical innovations that set Nyumba apart within the SW96 series.
Southern Wind is a boutique bluewater sailing yacht shipyard founded in Cape Town in 1991. Since its foundation, SWS has specialized in the production of semi-custom high-performance superyachts.
